I think I may have to trade in Bioshock, GTAIV and possibly Halo 3 to help pay for the ridiculous amount of great games coming out this fall. I don't normally trade in the 'big' games, even if I don't particularly like them, but it looks like I'll have to if I want all of my anticipated upcoming games.
I don't like trading in games, and I rarely do it. It's only now when there are many games soon to be released that I want, that has tempted me. At the end of the day, would I rather keep a game that I've completely finished with just for display and collection purposes, or would I rather trade that game in so I can buy something new.
I do NOT rent, I do NOT trade in. No matter how bad a game is. It's part of my library, part of my gaming history. I'm not going to disown it unless it's necessary.
I never trade in games (unless I can cheat the system). It's a waste of money and I like to keep my collection increasing rather than decreasing. If I can't afford to get all the games I want when they come out then I will just have to wait. Patience seems to be one trait many gamers lack.
I used to trade in all the time, but eventaully I realised it was just a waste of money, plus it is nice to have a collection. At the end of the day, I look at it from the perspective of I could get rid of BioShock, GTA IV etc and other games i've enjoyed to pay for these new ones or keep them and get these new titles maybe not as close to launch as i'd hoped.
Not a chance. More often than not it's not even close to worth it. If I really need to get some cash from my games it makes more sense to go onto EBAY. But even then I'm more likely to simply wait a few weeks till my next paycheck to buy another game.
I won't be trading games in any time soon. My last trade-in was a few weeks ago (GRID for The Orange Box), and I intend for it to be my last for some time. I have over 50 games that I haven't finished yet to play through, so right now I have no need to even think about the upcoming games being released this autumn.
I stopped doing the trade in thing a long time ago, when it got to be too big and I realized I was getting ripped off rather than getting a deal. Ever since I have been a collector. I like to get a used copy of the game for myself to play and trade with other players or collectors and a new sealed copy for my permanent collection.
If you have a little patience, you can get it used and save some money.
I just gave a fair number of my old Playstation games to our library because I haven't played them for a while and have no desire to do so (I can play them at the library if I wanted to). It's not worth going to the electronics store and getting a dollar or selling it on E-Bay. Or I'd give them to my nieces and nephews.
trading in games is a huge ripoff...sell them if you actually want something from them...that whole trade in bullshit is such a scheme, they rip you off so fucking much. To answer the question then, obviously no I won't...but I have the money for the flood of games coming, as well as anew PC, so there is my answer.
