Worst Thing Giant Bomb Has Ever Done to You

I've been listening over and over to Temporary Secretary and Get the Pet Wet, both of which are nightmarish songs introduced into my life by Jeff Gerstmann and Giant Bomb. This got me thinking, is this the worst thing Giant Bomb has ever done to me?

The answer is no. The worst thing that Giant Bomb ever did to me involved an early P4 Endurance Run episode. Charlie Tunoko sneezes and Vinny says "I'm allergic to assholes". Because of that, I have thought of saying "I'm allergic to assholes" every time I have sneezed for the past decade. This includes when I am at work and when I am with my daughter who is 3.

What is the worst thing Giant Bomb has ever done to you? I expect most answers to somehow involve Dan.

The Arkham City quicklook spoiled the main twist of the game with some background dialogue. It was eventually edited out, but I had already heard it.

That series could have gone on through all 6 Yakuza had Alex been piloting and Dan/Vinny on commentary, but with Dan piloting it got so, so damn rough to watch, and his attitude when he didn't understand why his moves weren't working (largely due to reading no tutorials) made it so sad. The episode where he is sick and still trying to play might be one of the most unpleasant videos in Giant Bomb history that wasn't an E3 live stream.

I suppose it's a double edged sword though, without GB's Quicklook and Mary Kish playing it on stream, I would never have picked up 0 and thusly fallen into the Yakuza hole, as it's easily now one of my favorite franchises ever. It's just a bummer that a series that had so much potential was waylaid due to some small but significant decisions.

@takayamasama: yep, for me it’s also punking out of Beast in the East followed by no Shenmue 2/3 ERs.

Honestly, the only one I can really think of that really hurt was removing the recent thread topics feed on the front page. Removing that and keeping the Twitter feed annoys me for real.

My mum always saw me on GB and decided to join, but she got banned immediately. I assumed it was because she used a weird VPN, but she got super upset. That was an awkward week; I had to hide the GB tabs when she was in my room otherwise she might have brought it all up again, haha.

The end of FMVinny. Every time Vinny breaks out an FMV game nowadays, it's like Christmas morning, but there are so many "classics" left untouched! A new 7th Guest came out, and not so much as a QL can be found. Not even a UPF segment! I am standing directly beside myself in shock.

Or maybe that time they tried playing D&D (or was it Pathfinder?) with Dan. A lot of gaming sites also produce great roleplaying content and I would kill to have GB do the same, but Dan ruined that so thoroughly this will probably never happen. There have been some christmas specials with Austin that are probably my favourite GB content in the history of the site, but those are very incidental one-offs.

Watching UPF and finding out there's no Business Dave always sucks, as well.

This is only "bad" in the sense that it is a pretty gross mental image (otherwise I find the whole thing hilarious) but Ryan explaining how he sat on a fucking sheet cake was an image I couldn't get out of my head and still can't.

Introducing Unprofessional Fridays as the West Coasts big live show each week. In my opinion pretty bad shows every week.. no structure and the video feed tends to be pointless as it's more of a have a chat stream. Probably could just be an audio podcast.
