Would anyone be interested in a low-stakes Magic Arena tournament?

I've been thinking of doing a mini-MTG tournament in Magic Arena since I play it so much. I'm not sure of the structure yet, and we might not be able to stream it, but we did one a few years ago for Rocket Arena and it seemed like that worked out. So if you're interested, please let me know your MTGA name in the comments here and if we get enough people I'll try to make some brackets up.

This will be pretty low stakes and I'm still deciding on a format, but we'd probably either do a regular old standard tournament style (best of three, coin flip, sideboards and all) or make it easier and do a Brawl tournament with some kind of banlist for commanders (and maybe just ban Ugin from decks entirely). Similar to others in this thread, I prefer standard, but I also have a couple mediocre brawl and historic decks ready to go if that's where we land.

EDIT: And regardless of whether or not this actually happens, folks in this thread are welcome to shoot me friend requests in Arena. I can't get any of my actual friends to get into MTG, so it'd be nice to play with y'all instead of the randomness that is quick play queue.

I would be down for historic brawl or something like common/uncommon only. Regular standard or historic is fine, but some rules/ristrictions to spice things up would make it more interesting.

OK, I'm cutting off the entrants as anyone who's posted above this comment. Given the number of people involved we might not be able to get all of these games played before Strix comes out, but we'll try and make this a just-for-fun tournament without much in the way of awards (maybe some Premium months for the winners). If we manage to make it work we'll try it again in the future with some merch or something more substantial as prizes.

Please find your name and your opponent on this list, friend them in Arena, and find a good time to get your match together. Make sure that you select TOURNAMENT MATCH from the challenge menu option. This will be a STANDARD, BEST OF 3 ROUND tournament (so be sure you have cards in your sideboard!). If you are looking for deck ideas I recommend MTGAZONE. There are a number of budget decks in there that might be handy for you! You do not have to use the same deck every round; feel free to use anything that's Standard-legal. This is ALL FOR FUN (the top 3 will get some Premium time, maybe!) so don't take it too seriously and try to BE COOL about stuff.

You can sync up in this thread, or if you join the Giant Bomb Discord you can use the Tournament-Zone channel over there to get in touch with people as you like. Or use PMs on the site! Do what you want! Let me know if you have any questions and try to get your first round matches done by TUESDAY!
