@AnimalFather: The are just guessing like everyone else. And the GTA5 trailer was announced a week or two before it was released.
no the game was taking preorders few days before the trailer was announced.

Just gotta say, if Microsoft call it the Xbox 720 they've already lost.
lost what? Wii is a dumb name so is Playstation but people still buy them.
Absolutely correct. The name means nothing. Microsoft just better make sure the thing doesn't break a week after you buy it.@TrueEnglishGent said:

Don't worry, it'll explode on the way home.

Gamestop started taking preorders for GTA5 in april.
Also, there were rumours about a GTA5 announcement before the trailer announcement.

the price is also quite high they want roughly USD1000
This should've been your first clue for why it's nothing more than a prediction. The second one is the name...

1000 bucks for a fucking console? Piss off. The Swedes can go stuff their face with Surstromming
Maybe, and this is just a maybe, they just put that price in at random?
Then again, it's Microsoft and if anyone has as much as just one single cell left in their brain they would know that Microsoft could easily set the price that high and it would easily sell.

I have billions of cells in my brain, and I think you're nuts. The PS3 had significant difficulty moving units when it launched, and it was priced at $600. You honestly think a product that is 5 times the current price of it's predecessor would sell...and easily no less? No way man. That thing would be dead in the water. Plus, Microsoft is used to taking a hit on each console sold, planning to make it up in software sales. That means this new xbox would cost well over a grand.....yeah, no.
There isn't any chance, at all, of that price being accurate in the United States. I find it very alarming that you think that would thrive at that price-point....everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course...but man.
@selbie: Well the PS3 was around $900 in Denmark when it launched... So it's not completely out there...
Rumours for GTA V came out in full force just before the announcement site appeared. It sounds like they're doing nothing but making random guesses.

Because "Playstation 4" and "Wii U" are such excellent names, right?
They're not going to call it the "720" though, it's a stupid name and makes no sense. MS are always much more clever with their names. The Xbox 365, like someone mentioned on the podcast would make a lot more sense.. It gives the idea of being a universal multimedia machine and has a 5 in it, to one up the PS4.
And it's definitely not going to cost that much.
Although I refuse to entertain this 'announcement' or 'discovery' - I will, however, debate that the next generation of consoles WILL be priced quite steeply. You only have to look at the Playstation 3 launch price to come to that conclusion.
I believe Sony jumped the gun when deciding to price the PS3 so damn high at launch. I think it is only NOW that a lot of people would be willing to spend a premium rate for the chance to get a new console within the first year of production. Especially if it was launched with a new Call of Duty. That would be the smartest thing they could ever do for a console launch.
It's also quite sad that I can see it going this way.
Webhallen actually leaked an early version of the Crysis 2 Nano Edition bundle about 6 months before it was officially announced. Microsoft also started hiring hardware engineers and designers for a console related project months ago.
Calling it the Xbox 720 sounds so stupid too.
Wow where were you guys when the PSone came out saying the Playstation was a dumb name? , seriously it dosn´t even matter what the name of the thing is you´ll get use to it anyways hell after some time you don't even have to say the full name so who cares if its called Xbox 720 what's so dumb about that?.

I'm not saying that they are gonna do it, jeeeesus fucking christ relax. I'm saying that Microsoft could do it and it would probably sell well, obviously not as well as the 360 has but it would still sell. Like it or not, there are actually gamers out there who have good jobs and make money.
If it had a bigger harddrive, better downloadable service for big games (kinda like Games on Demand but better) and a bunch of other features they could easily price it at $900-$1000. Remember you're not just getting the console there's the controller, cables all kinds of weird shit in there.
Edit: People should also keep in mind that the $1000 is roughly the price converted from Swedish to US currency, so chill out. Heck people bitch and whine about $50-$60 games. In Denmark we pay like 90 for a game (for console) when it's the full price
How can one think Playstation is a bad name? It's the station where you play games.
That being said, this thing isn't called the 720, I hope it's called Candyland Supreme 365.
I think Playstation is a good name. Wii on the other hand.@TrueEnglishGent said:
