1. Persona 3
2. Deus Ex
3. The Legend of Heroes: Trails in The Sky
Your 3 Top games ever!
1. Goldeneye 64. Played it the other day. Still lots of fun, fuck the haters. I'm pretty lame at it now-a-days, but it's still a great game. Cougar magnum ftw. followed by glorious pencil gun.
2. Company of Heroes. I'm a garbage RTS player, but still love the story/history and gameplay.
3. Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time
4. Battlefield 2. Bought it again on steam not that long ago. Still play. Amazing.
Honorable mentions: Portal, Super Mario 64, Pokemon Crystal, Dota 2, The Sims (collection), Civ (collection), Mario Party 1 thru 3, San Andreas/Vice City, TF2, Minecraft.
In no particular order:
Grand Theft Auto III
Super Mario World
DOOM or Saint's Row 2 or Red Faction or Burnout 3 or Portal or Max Payne 3 or Donkey Kong Country 2 or Resident Evil 4 or Twisted Metal: Black...
Dammit! I can't do this!
Top Three in Terms of Enjoyment:
1. Starcraft Brood War
2. Neverwinter Nights 2
3. Elder Scrolls Oblivion
Top Three in Terms of time Spent/Level of Investment:
1. World of Warcraft (Somewhere in the 300 days range before I quit)
2. Starcraft Brood War (Oh shii big game hunters.)
3. Toss up Between CS 1.6 and Diablo II
@lmephisto: I think showing people the live results is against the spirit. Alot of people are changing their votes just to vote for something with a chance instead of their true top 3.
@Bourbon_Warrior: there 2 reasons i am doing this .
1) to track who was the last person that voted and 2) to inform that we are close to see 100 games with more than 2 votes . Nothing bad on that . Besides they can check the list and change it anw ;)
man i get such anxiety about picking "top lists" for anything. games, movies, music, ect. cus i like so much stuff i cant ever pick 3. so i'm going to cheat and pick my top 3 franchises / series.
Elder Scrolls
Grand Theft Auto
Battlefield
I almost feel like I have to break it down into games of the past that ultimately don't hold up today, and the games that have taken their place in my heart for their excellence with the advantage of hindsight.
Years ago, I'd have easily had Baldur's Gate 2 and Half-Life on there. However, their sequels/spiritual successors are better designed and more fun to play in a modern gaming era, so there's a pretty big battle between nostalgia and the technical accomplishment at the time, against the just plain better games with the advantage of hindsight.
So I'll go ahead and say Half-Life 2 (no Xen, no horrible final boss) and Dragon Age: Origins.
If I can put a visual novel on this list, the last item would be Remember11: The Age of Infinity.
@Clonedzero: heh its ok to cheat but i wont entered them unless you decide which games of those 3 franchises you prefer ;)
This is hard. I can't even pick 3 games that are representative of all the genres I like to play, but here are some of the games that I keep coming back to, in no particular order.
Quake
Super Mario Brothers 3
Rock Band Series (though it could count as Rock Band 3 due to the accumulative nature of the music library, we only ever play the latest numbered release)
Picking three games I love is really hard so I'll just pick the first three that come to mind.
- Okami - beautiful art style with fun combat and zelda style story progression made it a winning combination in my book.
- Persona 4 - it was the game that reintroduced me to the JRPG genre of video games, as well as just being a good game overall.
- Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations - With the best set of cases in the Ace Attorney series and with the final case easily being the best case of the entire series, it's easy to see why I love Ace Attorney 3 the most out of all of them.
Other honerable mentions include: Metroid Prime, REmake, Zone of the Enders 2, and Dark Souls
So I made my list of my top 20 games here.
But in case you don't want to read all that, my top three are as following:
1. Paper Mario: The Thousand year Door
2. Metal Gear Solid 3
3. Portal 2
