Nice system, as for the HD 4870 how are the drivers? I heard they're terrible, any confirmation on this?

I have had no hassles so far, I havent even had the system lock up or freeze yet. I havent played many games yet but bioshock, stalker and company of heros work great. I am planning on getting my hands on a few more soon but I am having a blast with the system.

BTW I am using the latest drivers from the net, not the CDs that come with it.

Alright, thanks for the information. What do you mean by having a blast with your system? Ain't it performing well then?

I recently got rid of my Desktop as it wasn't practical for room space/portablility for University. I replaced it with an Advent 4211/MSI Wind, but made a couple of additions/modifications:

  • Intel Atom Processor -- Clocks to 1.9 ghz
  • Mobile Intel(R) 945 64 MB Graphics -- The bane of this otherwise awesome UMPC!
  • 320GB 7200RPM HDD
  • 2GB RAM
  • Realtek HD Audio output
  • Creative SoundBlaster Connect USB Sound Card for 5.1 Support
  • 10" display @ 1024x600 resolution, widescreen. -- Awesomely clear display for the size of the UMPC and totally ideal.
  • HDMI Out to a 24" HDTV -- Perfect for watching films, and gaming old school - the machine does run some great games (HL2 is about as recent as I can get it).

By.. like.. Alienware-esq Desktop standards, it's not great, but when you consider the fact that this thing is 260 x 180 x 19-31.5mm, its a great machine that fits all my needs =].

Hahaha, alright I thought you meant that you're going through a horrible time! ;) Yeah, I moved from playing PlayStation 2 only to PC gaming as well for about 3 years ago, it's a change indeed. But a lot better! Haha.

God dude, that's a superiour portable or something haha. That thing is really small indeed and, apart from the graphics, already coming close to a desktop PC.

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3200+
Video Card: ATI Radeon X300
Hard Drive: SATA, Approx 250GB
Memory: 3GB DDR
OS: Vista Ultimate 64 bit (also have XP home and Kubuntu installed)

Not exactly the most powerful hardware, but it still plugs away. Most modern games run fine if I tone down the settings, and graphics aren't that important to me. I'd like to build my own PC at some point, but money is an issue.

I think for most of us money is an issue, while 99% are still students they spent their money on others things. And buying a superior gaming machine out of the blue, hits hard in your wallet.

Intel E2180 @ 2.0GHz
ATi 3850 256MB
2GB DDR2
A lovely onboard sound card.
One 150GB SATA hard drive, one 80GB IDE hard drive.
Gigabyte P35-DS3R

I would overclock the processor but the last time I tried the computer wouldn't boot and it reset the bios. Whoops.

Haha, I know the problem when you talk about components not fitting into your case! ;)

Well, try a Scythe Mugen or Scythe Orochi, both have superior cooling performance and are rather small than big.

I have 1 ram, running on a treadmill powering my computer. I also don't have a mouse as it was eaten by the ram. Also, the disc tray came out so now I just use it as a cup holder.
