Just "Bloody Tears" from Castlevania II.

I was born in early 1990, so if we were talking 90's OSTs, I'd say Symphony of the Night with confidence.

Just about half the C64 library comes to mind.

If I were to narrow it down to 5, I'd probably go with:

  1. Deus Ex Machina (1984, which was synced with a cassette tape playing the music while you played)
  2. Hawkeye (1988, with an interactive loading screen where you could remix the soundtrack)
  3. Populous (1989, one of Peter Molyneux' early titles, with music by Rob Hubbard)
  4. Myth (1989)
  5. Pitfall II (1984, still have a hard time believing the Atari 2600 could handle this music!)

As a bonus, I'll have to give Zoids a shoutout even though the music is kinda just a ripoff of Synergy's Ancestors:

Oh damn it, I'll also have to say Captain Blood with music by Jean-Michel Jarre:
