I've searched for this topic beforehand and haven't seen any made in a long time so forgive me if I overlooked one.

So what game did you latch onto the longest, consecutively speaking?

Minecraft for the 360, 7-8 hours straight. My arms and legs were so sore.......

I've probably played a game for much longer, but I know I beat Dead Space in one sitting, which is about 12 hours.

I don't do it very often anymore. My longest in memory was the launch of Wrath of the Lich King where I probably put in a few back-to-back 16 hour days rushing to the level cap. That was fun.

More recently, Batman: Arkham City surprised me with a really long game session. I got up to find it had already arrived, put it in, and played it until I had finished the story. Probably about 12 hours. I like jumping between activities too much for it to happen all that often.

My buddy, his crew, and I played Super Smash Bros. Brawl one day from 6PM to 9AM. So 27 hours? We were really into Brawl...

:::EDIT:::

My math is off. It'd be 15 hours. That's better. I was AWAKE for 27 hours.

I played Oblivion for about 20 hours when it first came out (PC version). That's probably the longest gaming session I can think of right now.

I do 6-7 hour sessions sometimes. Doesn't matter what game. I hate when I do it though because it kills too much time and then I feel bad about it.

@BaneFireLord: Something like that for me too, booked a week off for that one.

I clocked up the hours too quickly and it was just today I started it up again after a long cool down period. Think I'll just be able to manage little chunks now.

My longest is sadly not as "impressive" because it was a 3 day lan (like literally 3x24 hours) but there was 5 hours of sleep that weekend so it was ruined.
Did play through Mass Effect 1 and 2 last weekend and that took around 14 hours, but there was dinner and pee breaks and a shower during those games so yeah

Probably Bad Company 2, played for like 9 hours straight or something close. Been having some pretty major Diablo sessions as well though, haven't been keeping track of game session length though.

I beat Mass Effect 1 three times in one sitting. Two times I completed separate versions of "Beat the majority of the game with squadmate X" so that means I did most of the side qeusts in the game. The last time was a speed run for a difficulty achievement which bugged on me and didn't unlock anyway.. I basically know that game inside and out so that last run only took me something like 3 hours (and it was only main quest missions), but the first two times must have been like 8-9 hours each. I love that game.

Also, Smash Bros. Brawl and Melee. I remember specifically Brawl because the Wii has that "Time Played today" thing in the message service of the console. On launch day, it didn't say I played anything at all even though I got the game early in the morning. I thought that was weird, but then it turned out my friends and I had played the game for so long that it became after midnight. So I have more than 24 hours played of Brawl in one day on the console...

I'll just post what I had in the other thread:

I've beaten Halo 3 with my brother in one sitting before. Good times. We also spent all day playing the first one on Legendary before, but that was a while ago and we had breaks.

Anyway, longest non-stop gaming session save for the occasional pee and Cheez-It breaks? Dragon Age Origins. I had almost given up on the game, but I decided to roll a new character when I woke up real early one Saturday morning. So I had breakfast and made a new mage, and spent from about 8:00 AM to about 2:00 AM the next day playing it. Note that this includes getting up every now and then, but never for more than ten minutes or so.

Other than that? Nothing. I can't think of a single game I've played, non-stop, for longer than that. These days, I generally only play for two hours at most before I get up and do something else for a little while, but I do play games at least once a day, every day.

Damn, if in those middle school days I'd had the same number of games as I do now, every day would have been an infinite gaming session.

Back when Knights of the old republic first came out i think i spent about 15 hours playing. i even ended up getting a bed sore or somthing from sitting in my chair for so long lol.

ever since then i force myself to move around if im playing for a long time. recently i spent close to five hours playing dragons dogma. i kept making myself get up to take the dog out or just move around for a few mins.

20 something hours of WOW:TBC at launch.

12 hours of RE5 co-op the first day? maybe 10? With the same person but took bathroom and food breaks.

I consider bathroom, showers and food acceptable. However food is usually microwave or delivery during these times

Probably Oblivion. I played that when I got it for Christmas, for like 2 hours. When my mom finally quit bitching about spending time with the family I think i played about 34 hours straight, and that was without even touching the main quest.

I also like to play through Psychonauts in one sitting, but that's only about 6-8 hours.

I used to play MapleStory a few years ago where I played for around 7 hours in one session. I never play that long any more though, 3 hours is my maximum because I just get too bored.

I'm not much of a marathon gamer, I find I get bored after a couple hours, even if it's a game I really enjoy. The only exception would be when I'm playing multiplayer with buddies... but even then, there is definitely a limit to what I can endure.

Probably not that impressive relative to some of the stints mentioned above, but back when I was in University (ostensibly studying Maths!) my flatmate and I used to play Starcraft over the LAN in our flat for maybe 12-16 hours a day for a good while. Still remember lying in bed trying to sleep with the image of little SCVs running around behind my eyes... :D

12 hours in AC2, Arkham Asylum and GTA 4.

The game has to be VERY GOOD if I play it that long..I normally play in 2-4 hour sessions.

Well me and a buddy did the Rock Band 2 Endless Setlist which got us to about 10 hours of playing because of the hardest song in the game. I told him to practice it and he thought he would do fine, BS. So an hour or so latter it was me trying not to faint on drums but still keep up 2 players then reviving him right after his solo and cruise to a sold 3 stars. The last 2 songs were easy for me as it was basically muscle memory. This was the longest single game for consecutive hours. Probably close to 12 hours in switching from game to game and running to get food real quick to revive me.
