You know those moments in video games where things get to such stressful heights and with you concentrating on the task at hand with how you are DETERMINED to murder your enemy/get past this part! Let your experiences ring out in this topic!

Warning, there may be spoilers in them thar hills!

1, Defeating the final boss of Dark Souls, to anyone else that is STRUGGLING in the game while reading this... learn that you MUST learn everything in the game in order to face him. I would tell people more about the boss, but I will say only this, giant firey flying sword of death... Yep... when I had finally beaten him, I yelled out in the middle of the night, YES!!!!!

2, Beating Hardcore mode of Dead space 2. This is a big deal, only 3 saves and near insta deaths as far as the eye can see? My hands were SHAKING and SWEATING bullets as I finished the final boss and watching the ending of the game, I literally rawred in triumph due to how fucking hard this was. I deserved that achievement. I will NEVER do that again.

3, Beating Condemned 1's final boss. (SPOILERS AHEAD!) Now, this one just happened a couple days ago. But still, I was against him a giant S&M demon thing with a huge spiky pole weapon. They guy could kill you in three hits if you weren't careful. So, I BULLRUSHED HIM!!!! I was unending in my attacks to the point where the QTE's that you need to do against him weren't going off due to how much of his fucking ass I was kicking! until I did it by pulling his damn SPINE out and then his TONSELS!!!! ... for some reason. Also... fun fact about that game, the guy who played the cop in the TV series HEROES is actually the main character in this game!

4, Finally! FACING MY FIRST DRAGON... in Skyrim of course, I mean damn! just... damn was it AWESOME!!!! just using my sithlord lightning at him from afar and going in with my two damn swords and MURDERING him in the fastest and awesome way possible!!!! Truly amazing!

There are more I can remember, but I do not want this to be a super huge spoil fest.

What are your favorite intense moment in video games?

The original Call of Duty, I think its called Pavlov's House. Basically you have to defend this three story house for about five minutes and you literally get over run by Germans, to the point were your whole squad is dead, and you're desperately surviving in one room on the top floor. Made all the better by having no regenerating health so you get literally worn down.

It still rates as one of my favourite FPS missions ever.

In GTA Liberty City Stories there is a mission where you are on a boat chasing down another boat. By boat caught fire first so I had to get out of the driver seat so I didn't die as soon as it exploded. I pulled out the sniper riffle and tried to take a shot at the escaping boat. I was knocked down as my boat exploded. I got back up and took the shot setting the other boat on fire. I was standing on my sinking boat waiting for the other boat to blow up. I was in the water and losing health when it did. MISSION COMPLETE. I was expecting to die immediately after but to my luck the mission complete triggers you spawning at the docks. I had lived and had only 5 health left.

The races in Ridge Racer where you have 1/200000 odds of winning are pretty intense too. I think I lost about a dozen by under .010 seconds but I eventually beat them all.

Yup, winning 1 vs. 5 with a USP in a LAN tournament when our team needed to win the round to stay in the match (still lost/came 2nd though). Doesn't get much more intense. Did the same with an MP5 on dust2 as well, but it was online, still ridiculous and not easy against relatively decent competition.

Any kind of competitive moment (in a tournament generally -- PES/CS/CoD1 for me) can be intense. But I don't get flustered often and have a penchant for keeping calm under pressure -- still though while I outwardly may not show it, I'm kakybac-ing myself on the inside.

As for single-player, games on the hardest difficulty can frustrate, but the gratification of beating them offsets it -- see Demon's Souls or old Halo on Legendary games.

Also well done Jay, this topic isn't entirely atrocious.
