This is a great game! Would love to see some content on it! :)

The race level is still insanely hard ( playing on classic difficulty)

I dont know if we will, I'm seriously underwhelmed, this feels like a project that didn't need to happen, haven't heard any staff interest either. Glad you're digging it though, i loved the original.

Came here looking for a Quick Look as well. Surprised there's no coverage of this game on the site, it's a AAA release and they've talked about or Quick Looked other remasters/remakes before and some of them weren't such an upgrade from the original like this one is.

From what I've played so far the game seems great and, as a fan of the original, it's been interesting to revisit the story with a modern approach. It's a shame it has so many bugs though.

Since I forgot to put Mafia Definitive Edition on my Top 10 list (doh!), I went to see if GB did a Quicklook and alas they have not. I'm as surprised as the others here, it's a great remaster.

As someone who loved the original, Hanger 13 did right with this one. I played full simulation mode and it was exactly what I was looking for with this. It's probably too late for them to cover it now, but just wanted to chime in and say how amazing this remaster, story and game is.

I believe this was discussed on the Bombcast once or twice? I confess I installed it but never got around to trying it.

@rorie: Honestly I don’t remember it ever being mentioned and I listen to both podcasts but might have missed it? Either way the ship has sailed.

@humanity: They definitely (definitively? :-) ) talked about it (at least in the context that it was a remake more than a remaster [which 2 and {less so, 3} are])... Look, I love it (and others do as well) but I suspect we are a... pretty small group honestly...

I hate the race on Classic this time almost more than the original version (but, at least, I don't have to figure out slowdown settings for DOSbox to replay it now)...

I bought it at a discount and had a good time with it, but some of the original magic was definitely gone by now. While the storytelling back in 2002 (especially the ending) was something very impressive to a way younger me, that type of cinematic storytelling has now been done to death in games. Plus the story itself, while still entertaining, didn't feel especially original anymore.

Graphics wise it was a treat and some of that work almost feels like a waste, because I wasn't especially interested in exploring the city even when the original game came out and felt even less inclined to do so now. But on the other hand, the very linear structure of the game was something I really appreciated, as it did a pretty good job at keeping me going for the whole duration of the game.

The gameplay was...acceptable, I'd say. The best thing I'd say about it was that it was fairly easy on PC, so I never got (too) frustrated during combat.

All that aside...yeah, I think it's a little too late for a QL now!
