Link's Ride in Mario Kart 8 Looks Pretty Sweet

Nintendo has aggressive downloadable content plans for Mario Kart 8, and it's beginning to tease what's coming. That includes a sweet Epona-influenced motorcycle for Link, revealed today on Twitter.

Pack 1 arrives in November, which includes four vehicles, eight courses, and three characters (Tanooki Mario, Cat Peach, Link). Pack 2 arrives in May 2015. That add-on includes four vehicles, eight courses, and another three characters (Villager, Isabelle, Dry Bowser). Both add-ons cost $7.99 each, and grabbing both packs unlocks a set of colored Yoshi and Shy Guy variants to play as.

Man, Nintendo is getting real goofy with their IP monetization. I don't mind it, it all seems tastefully done. They shouldn't put their characters in sonic games though..

I know my friends and I will love these new packs, mostly because of the courses. Can't wait.

I remember there was a joke about Legend of Zelda should take place in the future where Link rode on a Motorcycle that had the license plate 3P0NA. I'm glad Nintendo finally listened.

this looks like some diviantart fanfic..i love that Nintendo is adding this to MK8. i hope they keep down this crazy road of DLC that intertwines their different ip's together.

I may actually try using a Motorcycle in MK8 now. I had a hard time grasping how to control them well and just stuck with Karts.
