I would guess these would take over X-COM's monday slot, but who knows?

This is going to be a long ass series if its only 1 episode a week.

@vinny@alex what mods are you using specifically to get HD textures and controller support on PC?

@mezza: My only worry is that Vinny has had a tendency in the past to get so excited about things that he goes ahead and sells the whole farm, and there was plenty of evidence he just wanted to geek the fuck out on Mass Effect as a whole throughout this episode. Hopefully he can restrain himself enough that we get some genuine reactions from Alex both conversation to conversation and story beat to story beat.

The series will be great either way, but it really benefitted MGS at times how eager Dan was for Drew to see a thing, to the point he’d casually lie about what was happening or “forget” where things were going in order to build suspense.

@nodima: Apart from Vinny occasionally pointing me in a direction when I'm lost and giving me a bit of context when an event happens or a character first appears, he's been good about letting me discover stuff for myself. I think he's more than capable of keeping his enthusiasm in check.

They should use a mod to make male Shepard look like Nicolas Cage, it would make Mass Effect the best game in the universe.

Cool, I didn't mean anything overly analytical by it! As a fellow Man of Anxieties, I'm totally down for whatever path this show takes and am excited for you as a player and us as an audience. GLHB

Well, this series got me to start my premium membership back up after I changed debit cards and just never got around to resubscribing. Now I’ll have my GB cup to drink out of by the time episode 2 comes out! This series is like a dream come true for me.

I hope this took X-Com’s schedule and a new episode appears in about three hours.

I think they mentioned on the Beastcast that they were going to keep them on tuesdays, so probably not.

@dekkadekkadekka: There are two major texture packs available for ME1 -- MEUITM (Mass Effect Unified Improved Texture Mod) and ALOT (A Lot Of Textures), and both do a good work of updating the defaults (some of the side character outfits look pretty bad in the initial release).

If you want the controller mod they're using, check out ME1 Controller. I've been using it to play ME1 via my Steam Link.

I had a dream, where Alex tweeted that they’d be doing lore episodes on mondays or something odd like that. Sadly(?) just a dream.

This is the best series on GB in a longtime, but one episode a week is just torture. It's going to take a while, but that just means we can enjoy it for a longer time.

I too wish for more episodes but they almost always stick to the 1 a week, probably because despite appearances they are swamped with work each week as it is.

Whole week without a new Mass Alex episode gets my mood down, which is good preparation for Bojack's new season hitting this friday.

God my Tuesday is starting off on a bad note without my Mass Alex weekly ritual.

I wonder if has anything to do with why there wasn't an All Sytems Goku this week too. They said there was "scheduling conflicts"

I’m not sure how to feel about these stealth releases, unless I missed last week’s (and maybe the one before that) episode being up in the ”Coming up” section for a hot minute or two. On the other hand, it’s a nice surprise to see a new episode when you randomly decide to refresh the main page.

I like to watch these on my two hour commute home and the last couple have only just been up in time for me to download them.

Yeah, I don't like it either. GIVE ME MY MASS ALEX! Or at least give an accurate time to when it will be up.

Yeah, I wish I had a clearer idea of when an episode will appear. Great series so far.

Have they mentioned this series being a hassle to produce? Seems weird that every weekly series other than this one goes up on a regular schedule.

Still, for these kinds of weekly shows, you sort-of look forward and plan around it (I was gonna watch it over my lunch-break). Would be really nice to have it more clearly scheduled in advance.

Probably no episode this week due to Extra Life, right? I think Vinny already said as much.

Oh well, not to worry, I will miss it but it's for a good cause - for the space kids!
