What is so special about post counts? I will bet that most of the posts of someone with 10k posts will consist of only about 3 words or a line if you are lucky.
I'm with Jayge on his statement that post counts should be removed.
There's always people making useless posts and / or even trolling just to get their post counts up. I've got years of moderator and administrator experience on some large Half-Life and game design communities. This stuff happens. On one of those sites, removing post counts were the best thing since sliced bread.
Anyway, I digress; if they party, I for one won't join in on the festivities!
Post counts definitely need to be removed. All it's done is cause shit on this site and not allow us to have random conversations because they think we just +1 and they think it's spam.

Post counts shouldn't be removed, I think it's important we have that feature, same goes with the top poster wall. But I do agree that post counts shouldn't be celebrated, nor should they be looked as as some sort of competition. It's the spammers we should be looking to remove, not forum features.
I think occasionly, if someone who is generally praised around the forums, and is well known for quality posts gets to a milestone, then I think having a thread congratulating him/her is fine.

I'll bite, I need a reason to stop posting in threads I don't care about. It will save up a lot of time for me. Also, Karmum has well over 4,000 posts and I rarely see him post twice in a day. It makes me suspcious.

My activity has certainly dwindled since the launch, and will be probably cut in half once school starts for me Thursday, or maybe not.
