I'm not sure. I usually like Emmerich's stuff by that trailer did not get me on board. Just looked like an excessive myriad of CGI and absolutely nothing substance wise - I'm impressive enough to look at but I just hope there's more decent story and writing than this trailer seems to suggest.
I was laughing throughout the whole preview. I can't take it seriously. Considering the guy's recent track record including The Day After Tomorrow and 10,000 BC, I have a firm belief that this movie will be pure shit.

All his movies look good in trailers. They're built for summertime trailers like that. They just never end up having substance. They're all flash and pizazz (is that a word?).
Sweet trailer, those are the best meteorites (or are they meteroids?) ive seen in a movie, looks cool but i have a feeling that whole Vatican falling down thing is gonna anger some religous groups lol
I think I wait to watch this on December 21st 2012 . On a more serious note it doesnt look bad and I liked independance day so I will end up watching it.
I liked the Day After Tommorow, if only for the effects. This looks like it'll follow the same formula as 10,000 BC and TDAT, man faced with disaster or challenge, man overcomes aforementioned things to find child or loved one. Meh.
After Independence Day, i'll always gibe Emmerich a chance. It's like Michael Bay: You make something as good as The Rock once and I will always give you the benefit of the doubt.
I'm pretty excited about it after seeing that epic as hell trailer.
Disaster movies have always intrigued me even though they pretty much always fail at having any depth or intelligence. I guess I'm just a sucker for "end of the world "scenarios and CGI effects, haha.
Not gonna say it looked "terrible" but I'll admit that it had a very... "War of the Worlds" feel to it. Not a bad thing to most but I didn't really enjoy that movie either.
That said, I'll admit the first time I heard about this was yesterday coming out of the theater after seeing "Up". I laughed SO hard when I saw the poster for it because I used to be terrified of this some years back and the whole "We were warned" slogan with the movie just had me in hysterics.
I'll probably see it just for the fact that I used to be so scared and now there's a movie of it. I should get a good laugh outta it for that reason.

yeah, i know what u mean. the movie seems alright. there seems to be a lot of action but i have to say that it won't happen. there has been so many things that scientist and other things have said that the this would happen. things people have said that would happen, Y2J, we would talk to aliens, the end of the world would happen. a lot of things that would happen that never happened.

They were considered the most advanced civilization. They predicted moon rise and set, they were only off by .002 of how many days in a year. The precise calenders were based upon careful observation of the planets, sun, and moon.
