Top 10 of 2011
A little late but just wanted to put up my top 10 for 2011.
| 1. Portal 2 Probably one of the best games I have ever played so not really a hard choice for number one. The writing and puzzles are some of the best in the business and the multi player is the most satisfying experience I had in gaming this year. | |
| 2. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim In some ways this is more than a game, it's an entrance to another living and breathing world. That's what an RPG should be. | |
| 3. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Motion game that actually works? What is this wizardry? It's Zelda bitches! | |
| 4. Dead Space 2 Tight controls and great atmosphere makes this third persona shooter great. Also one of the best openings of a game in recent history. | |
| 5. Bastion This game has beautiful art style, wonderful music, great weapons, awesome voice work, and fun game play. It's the best value proposition on Xbox live this year. | |
| 6. Batman: Arkham City The fantasy fulfillment this game gives you is way beyond anything else. No other game come close to making you feel like such a bad-ass, you are not watching the cool moments in this game, you are playing them. And that is powerful. | |
| 7. Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective The DS is not dead! Ghost trick tells a mystery story with puzzle unlike any other. It's one of those game which the ending makes me smile every time I think about it. | |
| 8. DiRT 3 I don't know a lot about cars, I actually don't like cars that much. But I love the hell out of this game. Dirt 3 look great, and plays even better, even for someone who never plays realistic driving games. | |
| 9. The Binding of Isaac I played this game for so long this year. Constantly finding new power ups or unlocking new characters was a treat. By holding back a little on what your character can do from the onset, the power ups you find makes you feel powerful, and by making death and loosing that power-up a constant threat makes them feel that much more important. | |
| 10. Super Mario 3D Land The game that made me believe that 3D actually can work, and better the game-play. On some of the more tricky levels I felt that I was at a disadvantage if I had the 3D off. Now if only the 3DS had just a bit long battery life while using the 3D. |
