So, I was just perusing the latest TV Week and I read that there is a movie in production entitled "Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" where Abe Lincoln's mother is killed by vampires, leading him to hold a grudge against vampires and hunt them.. Apparently, Eric Bana is being considered for the starring role. I have a few thoughts on this matter:

  • The fact that someone is making an action movie about Abe Lincoln is super cool.
  • But, the fact that this is another movie about fucking vampires makes it sound really dumb. Vampires are not as good as time travel.
  • Also, they'll probably make it about a much younger Lincoln, without a stove-pipe hat or a sweet beard.
  • Seriously, if he doesn't wear a suit throughout this whole movie I will be incredibly disappointed.

So yeah, this movie will probably be a straight-to-TV movie with garbage production values and absolutely no use of the awesome things about Abe Lincoln. But, what do you guys think about this? Is it as interesting as I seem to think it is? Certainly, if this performs well, this could spark an Abe Lincoln re-birth that would make publishers go out searching for a game like Lincoln Force. One can only hope.

EDIT: Okay, I had no idea this was a novel, and a not-so-serious one in fact. This could actually be cool.

When I ask you guys to give me one good reason why I should not destroy humanity, why is it that you constantly ignore the word "not?"

It's based on a fantastic novel, being produced by Tim Burton, and last I heard will likely be directed by Wanted helmer Timur Bekmambetov. Won't be straight-to-TV. Will be awesome.

Yes.  Both Abe and pp&z are good books.  Happy to hear that Abe will be coming to the big screen.  I always thought it would be a good movie to make.

@DeShawn2ks: It's entertaining if you read the original. Also there is 'Sense and Sensibility and Sea monsters' but I didn't read this one.

If the movie is anything like the trailer for the novel, it will be amazing.

Washington didn't, as far as we know, have wooden dentures. He had multiple dentures made of gold, ivory and other metals; nothing to suggest wooden ones though. The more you know.

Yeah I know - well about him not having wooden teeth, not what his teeth where actually made of. Twas just a joke since that was a common pop culture reference people made regarding Washington, and not to mention the irony for a vampire to have wooden teeth at that.
