It can make a good time better. However, it won't make just sitting around bored any more fun, that's when it gets depressing.

I've never been depressed-drunk. Drinking just makes me so goddamn jolly, it's unbelievable. I don't drink all that often though, I'm surprised to hear how often people my around age (that is to say college age) do drink. Maybe it's because my parents let me drink from a relatively young age that I don't feel like I have to play catch-up.

Pretty sure it has an adverse effect on ones ability to walk in a straight line... so technically no.

But yeah... sometimes.

I enjoy a drink, but as I get older I find I generally prefer to maintain a slight buzz rather than getting shitfaced all the time.

One thing I have learnt is that if I come home after a hard day desperately wanting a drink, I won't under any circumstances actually have one.

Just brings out what I'm already feeling.  If I'm in a good mood, drinking makes it better. If I'm in a bad mood, drinking makes it worse.

I don't enjoy being drink that much, I don't like the loss of control and reasoning. The only times I've ever got really drunk, was back when I was still together with the girl I went out with for several years. Because she always kept an eye on me out ouf jealousy and I didn't have anything to worry about.

The only thing it can't make better is an ulcer.

I get stupidly drunk when I drink - so I always end up looking like a fool, but on the odd occasion I drink in moderation then it does make a good time better. This applies to when I'm with others, by myself, I always go nostalgic on video games and end up searching random pieces of music to do with games I like. Notably, Ocarina of Time soundtrack, Wind Waker soundtrack and random others such as Final Fantasy.

It makes everything worse, obviously.

also while you're getting hammered someone else who knows how to control their drinking is moving in on your girl, maybe giving her a friendly ride home.  Over-drinking / binge drinking is NEVER a good idea.

Drinking makes many things better. I use it for social situations.

Pot, on the other hand, makes everything but social situations better. I generally prefer it.

I do find it a bit shit now getting older I've got past the 'I got so wasted last night it was fucking crazy' mentality that the only way we socialise is 'lets go pub' or someone you haven't seen for a while, 'lets go for a drink soon.' Its like the social hub.

I don't really like the taste of the stuff. Unless it's a fruity drink. Or a Mike's Hard or something. There are easier ways to get a mind bending feel good mood going on. But it can be pretty fun to be around drunk people.
