I hate touchpads that cost the price of a modern computer, but have the components of a high end netbook... Seriously touchpads are interesting, but i find a keyboard and mouse, much more useful. Theres a reason touchpads use a simplified menu system.. Just sayin.
Am i seriously the only one who hates touchpads?
There are great uses for touchpads but the technology isn't there yet to make them a reasonable alternative for a regular computer user. I think the idea of a touchpad is great under certain scenarios, however most people who use touchpads are really getting it just because they are popular.
Now should companies push for more of a hybrid touchpad that can also double with a stand to become a mini-computer and use with a keyboard and mouse, they might have a good solution for a lot of casual computer users that really do very little with their computers in the first place. If they make them really affordable, they can even serve as little terminals that even active users could make use of. The only real problem that will face developers of these touchpads are the size vs portability of these dual-form touchpads.
They're alright. Though it sucks when you start to feel the skin burn to keep up the APM in Starcraft II. I kid... I hate them.
For everyday use like just searching the internet its not that bad.
If it comes to editing, drawing or using programs like CS4 and Vegas I like to use a plug in Mouse.
