Hi Giant Bomb,

I'm not one for writing blogs. However, over the past week I've used Giant Bomb in a different way and wanted to express gratitude toward this site. I'll be honest, I don't post too often, besides the yearly Santa Hat post that I try to create. I've been using Giant Bomb since the year I graduated college back in 2009. I love it. It's my go to place for pretty much anything gaming related. I've listened to countless podcasts, watched hours of quick looks, and engaged in tons of premium content.

Anyway, I wanted to offer a sincere thank you to this site over the past week. A week ago my wife gave birth to our beautiful daughter who sadly passed away hours later. The past week has been a living nightmare to say the least. We've been trying to keep busy as best we can, but obviously there is always going to be downtime. Giant Bomb has helped in a tremendous way when dealing with that downtime. It's been great to rely on this website over the past week in order to keep my thoughts at bay. I will openly admit that after my wife fell asleep in the hospital, I actually put a Bombcast on just to focus on something so that I didn't break down anymore than I already had.

I don't know what else really to say, but it felt right to say thank you to any of the Giant Bomb staff who might read this, or simply to any members whose forum topics/posts I've read to keep busy.

...and if you do have a child of your own, please hug them tight. Losing your own is the worst feeling I've ever experienced.

We lost a child VERY late term (had schedule a stillborn delivery) and it was traumatic. I’m really not the type to do so, but I’ve shed more than a few tears reading your story.

Hang in there. Be there for your wife. Save some time for your own grief...heal and stay well. Time will pass and you’ll decide where you want to go from here. Don’t rush it. Just get back to feeling normal and whole for now, give yourself the time you need.

You have my sincere love and sympathy. Whatever it feels like today, remember you will pull through.

My condolences. I hope you both find the love and support and solace you need in these times. And it's a small plus at least that you've found solace in our favorite chuckleheads (god knows I have on many occasions). Keep strong and take it one day at a time.

A friend of mine went through the same thing, it's awful and you have my most heartfelt condolences. I hope you and your wife pulls through and moves forward together for a better tomorrow. I used this site and community a lot in the same way when I went through my divorce two years ago, it's a nice feeling to have something to keep you busy and use as a slight escapism when life becomes heavier than we wish. Keep fighting the good fight for yourself and your wife, much love to you two.

So sorry to hear what happened to you man. GB has been a place of peace and escape for me when I've been rock bottom in my life dealing with depression and anxiety and things so I know how that can be. Hoping things brighten up for you over time.

Terrible thing to hear. Keep your loved ones close and never be afraid to lean on them. I'm gonna hug my wife's tummy just for you as soon as I get off work.

Thank you everyone. I know this sounds silly, but it definitely helps seeing all these comments from people who have had other difficult times and used things like the website to get through them.

So sorry champ. Can't imagine how much that hurts. Hope that you and your wife are as okay as you can be.

Seek out professionals to talk to if you can or just get stuff off your chest here if you need to.
