So today, the world didn't end. It didn't end for Y2K, either. Whether you believed the world would end either of these times or not, did it change your view on the upcoming 2012 prediction? Do you think it will spark and increase/decrease in the debate?
Personally, I think 2012 will only be discussed more now, but I believe a large percentage of the people who believed in it before have converted. I have to admit, though. That old senile guy sure trolled the world pretty hard.
Another end of the world topic, with another question.
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Sigh...I get so tired of all of this "End of the World" hoopla that happens every couple of years. Let me ask you this....did the world end in 1994 when that religious guy said it would? Nope. Did the world end in 2000 when the computers were supposed to crash and throw our world into turmoil? Nope. Did the world end today with a massive earthquake, the return of Jesus Christ, and the impending rapture? Appears to not have happened either.
So when it comes down to it, and people start panicking about the 2012 version of the world ending, I will be sitting at home kicking back as I enjoy the wild panic of those around me, for I know that the world will most likely not end on that predicted date either.
The thing I don't get is why people care?
If the world ends or doesn't, it's not like you can do anything to change it anyway, so why stress?
This wise man speaks volumes of truth with only a few words.Ain't nothin' but a party.
Do you know why the Indians rain dance always worked? Because they wouldn't stop fucking dancing until it rained. I apply that same line of thinking to dooms dayers.
I could've sworn there was a Armageddon scenario last year or something too!
I guess they find it exicting and dramatic. It's something out of the ordinary to talk about.
The only time this world is going to end is by being consumed by our sun ..... even if we humans die before the world will keep on going so the world cant end in any other way , so stop with the predictions .....Global warming in a couple decades could do it if scientists are right and models follow predictions, so many species will die off (and people, overpopulation+water supply running out are problems parts of the world are facing), so while the world won't end in dramatic fashion huge global extinctions could almost be called the same thing.
I will never understand why people keep predicting these things, do people actually want this to happen?
Fuck that old charlatan. His website is down and I hope his whole network collapses around him.
Nothing against NCube720's willingness to try and create a new and unique conversation about this topic, but I think the forums have had our fill of rapture/doomsday/2012/end-of-days threads for a while. It's getting a bit repetitive, no matter how many new potential conversations points are being introduced.
