I knew this place was full of 4chan losers when multiple people passionately defended their right to jack off to lolicon here months ago. You guys could keep that shit at /b/ if you wanted with the other sniggering social rejects.

I think it is a fair representation of the internet. 95% stupidity and porn, 5% awesomeness, activism and civil courage worth dying for.
But as someone else mentioned, most of the hilarity originates from SomethingAwful.

I hate /b/, I hate its mannerisms, its blatant bullshit like everyone thinking they are part of some Tyler Durden type of secret society.  For every 1 person who can hack someones shit, 10,000 just tag along.  Everyone on there is just waiting for child porn to appear, even though would never admit it and seem shocked if you made such an accusation.  I hate that it is starting to spill over into these boards.

I've only been on 4chan twice. I did not like the layout of the site, therefore I have not ventured back there.

Fuck no.

I used to frequent it. Now I avoid it like the plague. It's full of kids spouting off memes, and people actually doing good things for people. That's not the /b/ I knew and loved.

That always kind of gets me.  The idea that 4chan is bad because its bad parts doesn't make up for its good parts seems..we...weird.  You don't need 4chan for people on the internet to be dicks to each other, and yet I don't think anyone is going to say the internet is some horrible thing regardless of the good/harmless things it does.  Much like how we know what websites are shit, and which ones have something of value to offer, neither is the entirety of 4chan somehow a homogenous thing (It's far more of a house divided against itself though perhaps sharing a somewhat of a common lexicon).  Taking a Whiskey Media analogy, each subdivision of 4chan is like a separate site with /v/ being GB, /co/ being ComicVine, etc.  Now, if the members of Screened all started being giant douches, do you think it'd be accurate to say everyone in Tested, Comic Vine, Giant Bomb, and Anime Vice are also dicks?  Probably not.   "
