Anyone else think the Internet is a bit too easy?

Now, I love me some Internet. and i'm just in college, so I can't Really remember a time when there Wasn't an internet. But I do know that there Was a time when the Internet was not so streamlined, I mean think of how many dumb bimbos (no offense ladies, Dude-Bro jocks are the equivalent) out there who just surf the internet all day without necessarily ever even Trying to understand a bit more about what they're even doing! Back when the Internet wasn't so mainstream it was a necessity to do some work to get what you wanted, and aside from perhaps useless internet-knowledge that experience would overtime teach you how to problem solve to get what you want, instead of getting everything you need from Google or Youtube or Facebook.

That innovation in usability is certainly a good thing, and I don't think that we should make the internet purposefully more difficult to use or anything (that's just silly) but I guess that's what I'm asking; anyone know what I'm talking about? I sure don't.

Someone solve my problem for me please.

All I remember is that the pre-google days of Yahoo and Ask Jeeves were dark as fuck. It was pretty hard to find anything useful, and yeah I dunno... the internet was an ugly mess back then.

I was just reading a WoW thread about how people who start playing in Wrath came into a game that was much more streamlined and easier, and how they essentially had everything handed to them. Unlike original WoW where this were harder and you had to work for your stuff, and this somehow made you a batter player, even though the difficulty was actually the result of long grinds and limited information available to players. It is hilarious how similar the two threads read.

The only negative I find with the internet is the everyone's a celebrity atmosphere. Otherwise, it's a bastion of free stuff. Including the game Bastion :o.

The only problem I'd see with the internet in an academic sense is that with the ease of gathering information, it's less likely that somebody were to retain said information upon retrieval. Then again, it's probably a moot point anyways, since traditional methods of study and learning usually have equally abysmal retention rates anyways.

Everyone was dumb and lazy even before the internet, hope this helps.

If you are doing research, for a paper, you still have to find credible sources. I would say the internet made that more difficult.

They need to change the ending, they don't take my google searches into account.

Being that I work Internet Tech Support, I can say that its not easy enough. There's still a large majority of people (young and old) who are clueless about how the internet works. A large portion of them that don't even know how to use a computer and just have one for using email.

Yes, they spent several hundred dollars (minimum) for a machine that they only use for email. I know... it's mind boggling.

When I'm in a group with some friends who are female, I always ask permission to fart. They fart like troopers though. They don't know it's a fetish of mine.
