If you don't know what it is, it's basically a boombox that hooks into your wireless network, and you can use it to play audio from a bunch of different online radio stations, as well as stream all of the music you have on your home network. I'm thinking of picking one up myself, but was just wondering if any Giant Bombers had one and could sway me either for or against plunking down $300 for it.

I was once car-jacked by a hobo.

$300 for a squeezebox sounds too costly to me. Does it have good audio DACs? Like a wolfson or burr-browns? Or is it all digital?  What kind of electronics do you get for it?  I mean shit, for < $300, you could get a nice NAD cd player or even a nice bluray/dvd/cd player from one of the top manufacturers (or an Oppo).

I'm pretty sure they've only been out for like, a year, if even that.

I can't say for sure, but I think these things were reviewed in Maximum PC back when I still got that, so at least 3 or 4 years ago.

I don't remember them being made by Logitech though.

The Squeezebox was its own product/company way before Logitech acquired it.  See:
