I am just wondering cause I guess the new one came out and have heard about the series since the 2nd book but never really got into it mostly because I heard they were like love stories and being a guy I wouldn't mind reading about some love story unless it was over the top and super sappy so I was kinda polling for others opinions on the series?
Anyone read the "Twilight" series?
Don't do it. Unless you're into that sort of thing, vampire smut.
As a manager at a Barnes & Noble, I can assure you that reading Stephenie Meyer books is about as big a waste of time as you can imagine.
I haven't finished the first book yet, but from what I've read it's really good. It's mainly a love story though. So yeah, if you're not in to romance novels I'd say don't read it.

They're giant wells of odd vampiric emotion. I hate vampires.

I beg to differ. As far as I can tell, there is no "smut" (sex scenes)
but love like you might see in Romeo and Juliet(where each would die for the other)
It's not too sappy, It's the kind that makes you sigh and wish you had what they had(and I do! My wonderful hubby..but I digress)
I'm not big on vampires myself, but I like these..they almost could be real. And they abstain from human blood...
I really enjoy the books.
Not all "managers of bookstores" will like all books. (And I doubt I'd buy books from one who talked so derogatory about popular books!)
However, I do write honest reviews on Amazon, and plan to review these sometime.
So, Topic creator, check it out from your local library. It's not a "romance", but rather a "supernatural love story" with vampires, werewolves, humans, telepathy and truly wonderful characters.
My girlfriend loved the first, but said the rest is just the author's way of cashing in on the series. She was reluctant to buy the newest one, but apparently loves it. Either way, they don't sound like my kind of books.
