Just curious about people's thoughts on the shirt as a way of remembering him, especially in a public place. It's definitely the shirt that most directly correlates to him ("China Don't Care" a close 2nd), but it can easily be misinterpreted. Not to mention there are younger people at the show who's parents might not want to be exposed to that kind of language and it's in the spirit of the show to respect other people.

Will you be wearing it at the show? If not, what will you be wearing to remember Ryan?

Personally, I won't be wearing mine to the show. I'll be wearing my China shirt and my first year Whiskey Media Membership shirt. I'll be bringing it with me though. Maybe I'll wear it if there's a Giant Bomb hangout night.

I honestly don't think it is. It's something of an in-joke that you're displaying to the public with reckless abandon, no doubt some people will see the shirt and know that Ryan Davis passed away and will not think well of it.

I wouldn't. If I had one of those shirts and I was going to wear it, I'd use a permanent marker to add a comma, like the shirt they were attempting to sell. Fuck, Ryan Davis.

Or cover up the "Fuck" and put "Love" or "Miss". Something a little friendlier.

If you wear it among other GB fans, they should get it and not give you grief about it. Maybe wear it with a jacket for when you are in public, though

Wear a tube top over the shirt so you can adjust the message as necessary.

It's really no appropriate. Either cover it up or just don't wear it. In-jokes like this don't fly well outside those in the know.

Are there kids at PAX? Walking around with a giant FUCK on your shirt in a public place makes you kind of a dirtbag in any context.

Edit: I'm not calling you a dirtbag, OP (my post kind of read that way).

I would pass as well... Might be to fresh for some and also... they know you care. No need to "wear it on your sleeve". God I hope people don't ask questions about this stuff at Pax... that would super bum me out.

I wore it under a hoodie when I was at PAX AUS. The good thing about that hoodie was that it had two zips so I was able to cover up the top part leaving 'RYAN DAVIS' still exposed.

Absolutely appropriate. It's not like I was one of Ryan's close friends, but I don't think he'd be glad that his passing would make people stop wearing his shirt. We all know what that shirt signifies, right? It's not like anyone actually bought that because they hated Ryan or something.

I think Ryan would prefer that you wear it.

Well, as a rule the Q&A portion of any panel is the worst thing ever. Fortunately in the past GB panels haven't been nearly as bad as most, so maybe it will be left alone.

nah, not unless you want someone to go complete ape shit on you. Besides I never really seen the appeal of the shirt. If I didn't known about the joke, I would have thought it was disrespectful.

Won't someone think of the children?! If they see a bad word on a t-shirt it might irreparably harm them, or at least distract them from their murder game convention.

Seriously though, I, like others, think that most people aren't in on 'the joke', and would just think you're a dick talking shit on a dead guy.

How could someone who knows Of Ryan Davis (but not enough to get that reference) see someone wearing that shirt and Possibly think it is intended as a malicious attack against him? That just seems Ludicrous to me! I mean, who Does that?

No fucking way. It would not wear that shirt any place the giantbomb guys could see it(or where anybody else could see it really, I don't think it's that funny really), of course they would understand why someone would wear it but it would just be a slap in the face reminding them of Ryan's passing.

That shirt was never funny and nobody should wear it, same as China Don't Care. They weren't even nice designs.

I doubt they would care. They embraced it to the point of making it, I doubt that really changes now.

That's probably the only appropriate place I can think of for wearing them. I'd expect that a lot more people would understand it's meaning there than in just about any other place or situation.

I kind of wish they would re-do a version of the shirt that says, in the same bold pink lettering "RYAN DAVIS", nothing else needed.

Any shirt with the word "FUCK" emblazoned on it is wholly inappropriate for any outdoor activity. Please, keep it at home.

Who cares, do whatever you want...why do people concern themselves on what others will think?

There's a weird thing in this world called "society," it's a group of people that come together and agree to not annoy each other so they can ultimately be more productive.

This whole "Don't care what others think" is such high school "You're the best you" BS that I'm tired of. Life is all about what others think of you. The quicker you realize that, the better off you'll be.

Wear the shirt, and carry with you a canister of human breast milk; offer shots to anyone who's offended by the text of the shirt.

Well, you were one of the few (hundred?) people who bought one of those dumb shirts in the first place, so you might as well wear it to one of the handful of public events where anyone at all will have an idea what the fuck the shirt is even about.

@dreamtheateropeth: It's not about being PC. It's about not wearing a stupid, garish shirt with FUCK printed in giant text at a venue where most won't get the joke nor appreciate some jackass parading around and wearing it in front of kids. Even Ryan had standards, guys.
