Are corgi's "Girl Dogs"? As in, dogs for girls.

I was talking to my folks about how I was thinking of getting a dog and I mentioned corgis. My dad said, "You don't want one of those, those are girl dogs." No, but I'd say they're probably old people's dogs. The only two people I know with Corgis are old.

Anyone who attributes gender to non-gendered things (like dogs, cats, cars, etc.) are extremely self-conscious and are likely worried about their own gender identification as they are like not secure with themselves. Like what you like.

I agree with this. Dogs are just dogs. As long as you take care of it and you're allowed to legally own it, you can have any pet you want, regardless of who you are.

I don't think Dogs can be "girl dogs" or "manly dogs." They're not property or fashion accessories, they're friends that you keep with you. I think it's less about the particular breed of dog and more about whether or not that individual dog's personality matches up well with yours.

Nope, I don't view any dogs as either "girl dogs" or "manly dogs", and Corgis are pretty awesome.

Now I don't know your dad, but I figure that he is one of those people that see smaller dogs as for girls and bigger dogs as manly dogs.

Dogs do not fit into the "dogs for girls" and "dogs for boys" categories. They do, however, fit into the "are a husky" and "aren't a husky" categories. Get a dog from the "are a husky" category.

Corgis are manly dogs for manly men. Don't let their cute faces fool you, they are the fiercest dog in the world.

Corgis are for people who are willing to have an incredibly high maintenance dog. They are small but they are absolutely a working breed, so they need tons of physical activity. Don't follow the second part of this advice. If your dad says that Corgis are only for girls, he's probably not going to be cool with you making sexual advances toward him.

Though, I won't deny that there are "girl dogs." I'm talking about poodles. Even without their hair getting all ruined and fancy looking, they're still girl dogs.

I disagree with others claiming that you can easily shed the restrictions of society. Pomeranian is a girl dog. I think a Corgi's a borderline case at worst, though.

Mostly because there are a shitton of dogs in my neighborhood and they get into barking contests(seems like it) in the wii hours of the morning, including my neighbor's dogs, fuck dogs.

I would totally agree with you day if they weren't so cute. They have all the qualities of what I consider "girl" dogs, mostly being small, but then they are so energetic and cute. I occasionally have to watch two Corgis, and it is the best because no matter what they are always happy to see me and I'm so happy to see them.
