I was thinking about this today. Are there cars that have hard drives? By which I mean, a car with a hard drive for your media (basically songs). I know cars now play Mp3's and what not, but are there cars with hard drives that can just store your songs?
Does this exist? If not, what would you guys think of this?

Yeah, off the top of my head I know BMW does it. In Europe the BMW's connect to 3g (if you pay for it) and go online. Not in the US yet.
You can still send directions to your cars harddrive though over WiFi or some proprietary BMW service.
I'm pretty sure there is a commercial for one on tv now. I can't think of the model off the top of my head, but I don't think it's high end or anything. Pretty sure it said it comes with a 40gb hard drive for storing music and video
I remember seeing a caddy commercial with one. Seems kind of stupid to me as you can just plug in an iPod.
Sure - they've been around for years. You can buy in car "mp3 juke-boxes" from most in car audio dealers.
Plenty of manufacturers are still woefully behind the times with in-car stuff: One car we have (quite posh and 5 years old) has a cassette player in the dash!
I can't understand why more in-car audio manufacturers don't make sets with digital radio (DAB) reception.

Hello past! Those HDDs are spinning like your rims!
@jasonefmonk: Most likely a bot necroed it and spammed some scammy website. When the post gets deleted it doesn't get removed from recent discussions.
@broshmosh: Makes sense! How's the hard drive in your car?
