I have been browsing around Giantbomb forums and i see a lot of talk about Windows 7. Although i did get a copy of 7 Pro from university i can't help but wonder, where are all the Apple users? Doesn't seem to be many. I am myself using my Macbook Pro to type this but i can't be the only one can i? Also haven't seen a lot of debate about Windows 7 and OS X Snow Leopard. Any thoughts?
Are there many Apple users here?
I'm a mac user. Actually that's a lie. I have a windows-based computer for PC games (which I don't really play.. ok, I play literally 2 PC games). I use a mac for everything else. And I am getting a new macbook pro next week, so I have no experience with Snow Leopard as of now, but once I get to spend some time on it then I'll probably have something more to add to the conversation.
Yes, it annoys the shit out of me that I can't run some things on the mac, but hey, you can't have everything. I always say that games belong on consoles anyway.
I use a MacBook Pro for pretty much everything, and I'm trying extremely hard not to drop money I don't really have on the new 27" iMac. I also own an AppleTV, two iPhones (3G brick/3GS), an iPod Touch (1st gen), 24" Apple Cinema Display (for my MBP), Apple Keyboard With Numeric Keypad, Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse (that thing is some broke ass shit), and I've got the new Magic Mouse on pre-order.
So yes, I'm a Mac user and an Apple whore.
To be fair though, I also have 2 PCs located in different rooms throughout my house, but I rarely use either of them.
Macbook and iMac. I run Windows XP on both Macs, but it is only ever used to play RTS games. My collection of PC games is pretty decent, but they are just about all RTS as it is the only genre that interests me. The kids play Sims 3 on them as well.
I became a Mac user about 8 years ago and I don't regret it for a second.
Mac user here reporting in . I have one of the old macbooks but i beefed it up with 4 GB of RAM so now it runs like a new macbook :) Not bad for a 3 year old macbook . I use my beat of a windows machine for games though . I would psot the specs but you wouldn't care proabably
Question: why do people say that WIndows are for gaming, Macs are for everything else?
Windows can run more than Macs can, from audio production to graphic design, plus games, so why do people say this?
Anyways, no, I'm a Windows/linux user all the way. I strongly dislike Apple, Macs, and the Mac OS for a variety of reasons.
I've been a Mac user for I think 2-3 years now. I'm very happy with the switch.

"I don't know much about audio production so I can't say much about that but with graphic design you basically need the Adobe products which are available for both Windows and OSX. And Macs do have Logic Studio for audio production. I haven't used it but I've heard it's pretty good.
If you do alot of PC gaming then a Mac is maybe not the best choice. Even as a Mac user I might advice you buy a Windows machine in that case.
I think the reason people say that Windows are for gaming and Macs are for everything else, is because if you don't think about gaming then a Mac can do basically everything a PC can, just with less headaches (in my opinion).
Bar the Mac computers I've used in primary school ten years ago I've never use Mac computers before. I couldn't grasp the one button on the mouse when I tried my friends Mac.

"Fire up the car Johnny, we gots ourselves a MAC user!"
I use my Mac for editing video (Final Cut Studio) and photos(Photoshop/Lightroom), and my PC for everything else. I love Macs, but they're expensive, and you can't really play games on 'em unless you dual boot.
" Both sytems are crap. There is an opening in the market for a new operating system apart from mircosoft and MAC "If you know how Business works, then technically there's an opening for every product ever made. That doesn't mean getting into that market is easily achieved. When considering Operating Systems it's especially difficult because of the barriers of entry. Apple is doing a well enough job, but still nowhere near the success of Microsoft. My point is a new OS would have an incredibly hard time, especially when so many things are reliant on it. Software and hardware create hurdles for anything not Windows. But I doubt you wanted to know all that, just felt like dropping some knowledge on you.

I don't game on Windows so if I were to have a Mac, i would use it more than Windows. "Sounds like me. I want to get an iMac to replace my current PC. I've been using Windows since 95 and all this Vista / 7 BS is too much for me.

Use iMacs heavily to edit video/photos/audio at college.
I'm very, very tempted to get the inevitable update to the Macbook Pro when it comes out (by that point I might even be halfway to affording it!)

I've played around with my brother's iMac so I've learned how to Copy & Paste on a Mac, and that's about it. However I'd like a MacBook Pro to replace my dying pc.
I have a 13" Macbook Pro. Switched over. I love Mac OS though 10.6 has presented me with some upgrade pains I didn't expect. BUt I also got windows 7 on it and found myself switching between them. Mostly using Windows 7 right now because I want to get it all set up and tweak things on it. I had a hatred of the E-mac because I would use it at school and that piece of shit would freeze every 10 minutes, costing me some work.
But its been good so far and all thats missing is a little bit more control for my macbook using windows 7, and that would be it, I would use windows 7 most. But apple has not released any official support for bootcamp with Windows 7, so I need to wait a little. But still, I like em both and feel, that windows gets the edge, just because you can find almost anything you want for windows. Though i love the performance on Mac OS.

osx is a better os in my opinion... not to impressed with snow leopard tho, i dont notice any difference at all.
