i would say i'm a fairly decent driver.
Are you a good or bad driver?
I am a very good driver. I am not bragging here, the reason I'm a good driver is because not only am I a competent driver, but I never do stupid crap while driving.
My cell phone conversations never exceed 60 seconds while driving, and if they do go past a minute, I park my car along the side of the road or at a gas station or market to actually talk. I never eat anything bigger than a donut while driving, and hardly ever eat anything at all. I don't guzzle soda or any other drink while doing it either.
People say those don't matter, but they do. Practically every driver messing up traffic is either A) talking on the phone, B) reading(Yes, really), C) eating, or D) doing something stupid with other people in the car.
You drive to drive. Not to fart around with your best pal or eat or blast your radio either. You drive.
"I agree with you completely, the most I do while driving is smoke a cigarette.I am a very good driver. I am not bragging here, the reason I'm a good driver is because not only am I a competent driver, but I never do stupid crap while driving.

Also, don't park at a gas station to have a cell phone conversation you'll blow the place up!
well I am a good driver in the sense that no one honks at me and I don't cut off people or anything, but I am a fairly aggressive driver, I jump lanes a lot and drive fast.
Its all too easy to think you are a good driver. I find those who say they are good are probably in need of most learning.
I think all car drivers should be made to ride a motorbike for a couple of years first to sharpen their skills.
For example, I bet most of the "good" drivers here never look over their shoulders to see what's behind them when turning. The only real reference of good driving is an advanced qualification or licence.
Please stop patting yourselves on the back - especially ThesecondSign; who freely admits to eating and having phone conversations as distractions while driving.
I would say I am a good driver, it also helps that I attended a training course at skip barber a while back. http://www.skipbarber.com/

You didn't even read what I said did you?
I said I DON'T eat or have phone conversations.
I call my parents to say I'm either coming home, or that I'm OK on the highway. Then I hang up the phone. And by eating, I mean maybe, MAYBE a candy bar.
And I do pay attention to every part of my car. You have to in my home town. Just the other a bunch of kids jumped out infront of me on bikes. If I wasn't paying attention I would've flattened them. But I was paying attention. The other day someone tried to shift lanes right into my truck without a signal and nearly pushed me off the road.
I was the one who caught it and moved out of the way while he kept merging.
And yes, I do look behind me when I pull out. I always do.
In a day to day capacity I am a good driver cause I am a law abiding driver. I did get a fine for running a red light once but the intersection heading east near out local airport has the quickest light changes on the planet and I was completely rogered in that occasion. As a racing driver, I did have a speedway car once cause my old man was into super stocks and junk but I totally sucked arse at racing.
I don't have my license yet, I currently am driving with a learner's permit. But I am very confident in my driving abilities and I do think that I am a very skilled driver.

Seems like you didn't read what you said - you don't have phone conversations over one minute and don't eat anything larger than a doughnut while driving. I can't see how those limitations would make any difference to the distraction those actions would entail.
You should look over your shoulder when you make any turn - and not just pull away.
Why be so defensive? Is it not better to acknowledge that everyone - including you - can improve their driving skills and road-craft?
