So, some friends and I went to throw some disc golf and tried to get a larger group together. Everyone else wussed out just because it's 94F with a heat index of 99.

Hey, it's uncomfortable yes. But nothing feels better than to get all sweaty doing something fun and then come home and jump in a semi-cool shower. Well, almost nothing. :p

How about you? Can you take the heat or are you house-bound during the dog days of summer?

Love the heat, I think it has something to do with my latin blood lol.  In the summer I like to drive with the windows down instead of the AC bc the summer air feels so good.

I love the heat and all the fun activities you can do in it. I'm not a fan of the restricted cold lifestyle.

Not really. The Moon's actually a pretty warm place, so a lot of Lunarians can handle heat fairly well.

When I lived in Ontario, I was surprised that most houses didn't have AC. The number of people with swimming pools, however, is crazy. Even the house I ended up buying right downtown (you could hit the general hospital pissing from the front yard) had an in-ground pool.

Down here in the southern US, if you have a pool, especially an in-ground one, you're pretty well off.

I hate the heat. I lived in a desert on the second story of a house with no air conditioning for 20 years, and had to come back for the summer (we have a unit but my parents refuse to ever use it because of electricity costs). As I type this it's 100 degrees outside, and even hotter in my room... I'm so glad I'm moving to Berkeley in 2 weeks where it's 71 degrees right now... lucky sons of bitches.

Yeah, even 80 is too hot for my liking. Luckily here in Montana we don't get that many really hot days.

Fuck heat, man.  I feel totally awful if it's more than 95 or so outside, and it sucks for it to be over 85.  I keep my room around 68 or so.  I will brave the heat to do fun things outside though, such as airsoft.

Heat is ok if it doesn't go much over 30. Humidity on the other hand is the bane of my existence. I cannot cope with humidity one bit, and the sad thing is, I am going to Florida in just over a week. *shudders*

Tans are something I don't go for, on myself or on my women. There is, after all, no such thing as a 'safe tan'.  The girls I knew in high school who tanned frequently now look twice their age, with thick, leathery skin. Give me a 'milk maid' over that any day.

When I'm outdoors in the sun, it's all about the sunscreen, applied in copious amounts.

When the sun is high and being inside is unbearable, I'll be outside all day reading most of the time, getting a tan is bonus and really, I'm inside so much that I actually just revert back to a human colour when I'm in the sun, not the pale white I normally am (and love, fuck it) since the weather is crap or not hot enough most of the time over here.

And spending so much money on a vacation just to bake in the sun? Fuck no, I paid for service and adventure!

Haha, my first winter in Canada my wife (now ex) woke me up and told me it was -40 and I needed to plug the car in. For those of you who aren't aware, it gets cold enough there that you have to heat the oil in your car so it doesn't congeal.

I thought I'd be okay for just a few seconds outside in just my boxers and house shoes...I mean all I had to do was plug the cord into the side of the house. It only took about 45 seconds to get to the car and do it and get back inside, but FUCK, let me tell you, once I got back into the house my nipples and fingers were ON FIRE. That shit right there sucked 15 different kinds of ass.

Bring on the heat!
I may not be much of a sports person, but I'm really susceptible to colds during the winter. Hot weather is good for me, even if it does give me some headaches now and then. Hate it when i'm trying to sleep though.

I have lived in the deep South my entire life, in a place where 90-100% humidity to go along with the 95+ degree weather.

It's not preferable, but I have long since gotten use to it.

No, I'm pretty used to it. The humidity is more unpleasant than the heat most of the time, but I've gotten over that too. I guess that's what eight seasons of marching band in the deep South will do to you.

I don't mind heat, but I hate cold. That day it was almost 100? Me and my friends were playing basketball. The only problem was that we didn't really bring enough water, otherwise we could've played for a while longer.

@Fajita_Jim: I find being hispanic gives you the edge as the Carribean and South America are hell on earth hot compared to every other place that's not the Middle East.So I found it pretty easy to adjust to the hot weather in Florida.
