Wow, I can't believe some people like Seinfeld more than Arrested Development. Though I guess it's not that surprising since Seinfeld's humor is much simpler and appeals to a wider audience.

So do you not like "complex" things because you simply can't understand them or do you just not want to use the brainpower to focus and and dig deeper into context and find a hidden meaning that can be much more fulfilling than something that tells you something straight up.
Simple comedy gets old really fast. With comedy like AD that has layers upon layers of jokes, that never gets old.

It has nothing to do with brainpower, the best comedy and entertainment in the world relies on simplicity. (IMO) All in all it really comes down to personal preference. Of course not everyone will enjoy AD, and not everyone will enjoy Seinfeld. Compare the two though and Seinfeld definitely reached out to more people. Simple jokes, excellent writing, and that awkward everyday humor that connects to a much larger audience.

Seinfeld's humor didn't connect with people for the first 2-3 seasons as well. It started to get popular only by the end of the third and starting of the fourth season. It was a similar case with AD, the show was brilliant but a lot of people didn't get it initially. One of the reasons it wasn't popular was because it wasn't marketed properly and had a terrible time slot as well.
To be honest, I enjoy AD more than Seinfeld but the fact remains that without Seinfeld, there would be no AD. :/
It is written well but for some reason I never liked the delivery of all the lines. The few shows I watched I never felt any of the lines were delivered well. I can't put my finger on it but something was off there.

Really? I thought the unique delivery style in AD was one of its biggest strengths. I guess its just personal taste but I really enjoyed the satirical mood in the series and the somewhat dry/detached delivery fit the atmosphere perfectly.
