the one word response rule has always bugged me. there's no rule against italics or bold font, though.

the main category where it could be left up to interpretation would be trolling. in the system wars forum it can be tough sometimes to distinguish since limited forms of trolling are allowed there.

power...i guess if you're not a mod then you don't really know what it's like. it's not that empowering, dude. the novelty of being able to lock threads, ban people, or whatever wears off pretty quickly.

anyway, it's not the mod's faults. we don't come up with the rules. when i see the way people speak about the mods and how they act, yes, much of the time i do think that it's 100% their fault.

I've been a mod, and still am a mod, in multiple senses of the word. You do choose how to enforce the rules, and it's in your choice that most of the potential for backlash lies. Is the person a frequent spammer? Should I let them off this time for making a mistake, or violating a rule that may have slipped their minds? Do I act as though everybody sleeps with fluorescent bulbs depicting the ToS over their heads, as I do? You're not a robot, and nobody expects you to be.

Given that you're the only Gamespot mod that I know of posting right now, and your presence as a user (whether to participate, or what) is generally undefined, it's inevitable. Many people are here to avoid the presence of GameSpot and their mods (whatever your opinion of them is). Your posts, especially in response to people complaining about GameSpot, are going to do nothing to alleviate any possibly false charges against you. They see them as obnoxious at the least, invasive at the most.
