IT'S NOT OVER YET.
Keep donating duders (using the gender neutral word duders).
I'm not sure their tradition of doing an extra long game as the finale is such a good idea. Stream is down to 65k viewers and falling right now. I remember the same thing happening last year with FF IX. The idea should be building excitement right until the end, instead of ending on this low key relaxed note.
Anyway. Huge congratulations to SDA and SRL folks for raising $850,000+ in donations this year.
Incredible work duders. Way to support a cause and honor the big guy.
Love the applause by everyone in the room.
@deadpancakes: I did a double take at that line as well. Coupled with the knowing applause by everyone in the room I couldn't help but tear up a little. RIP Ryan.
Everyone on this list is http://gamesdonequick.com/tracker/bid/1245 worthy of all our praise.
And the Epoch donators as well of course!
@kingspeedy: Interestingly enough, I tried to take a screenshot of the naming process, but missed my chance. So I just tried taking a couple of screens with "RyanD" in it, and when I looked through the pictures I took, I saw that one, and imagined Ryan saying "Now it's my turn to help you." and felt like I had to post it.
@deadpancakes: Someone else snagged it
@deadpancakes: Now I just imagine somehow his being transferred into a bitchin' robot in the future.
@capum15: I'm just glad they said "dragging Robo's corpse" and not RyanD instead
@amyggen: Agreed. One of these times I'd really like to go to one of these streams. If I do I have a feeling he'd be an interesting dude to talk to.
To be clear, I've not been watching the chat this time.
I saw what goes on in it during last SGDQ and have hidden it ever since.
EDIT: Oh, wow. Just catching up and saw Ryan got in at the last minute. And people applauded? Damn, wish I saw that. Great job guys!
Was going to put my donation towards 2poch, because it's amazing, but I had to go for RyanD when I saw it was so close. Amazing job, duders.
Looks like 2poch has a great chance to win anyhow.

I doubt it's entirely because of the game; it's dropped twenty to fourty thousand people every single night this week as it passed into the midnight hours for the east coast.
It's more of a shame that the run is ending in the middle of the night (for the US at least). SGDQ ended at a more reasonable hour last summer if I recall.
@bane122: Yeah, I haven't watched the chat past the first day. It's one of the worst Twitch chats I've ever seen. Not surprising with the amount of people watching, but the homophobic and racial slurs were coming left and right when I was watching (and the irony of people watching ADGQ calling the people in the room nerds is quite funny). I'm not surprised Bluegrass got shit in the chat, it's the same cesspool as the YT comments.
I don't follow the speedrunning community outside these events, but from what I understand he's done a lot for the community. I like the dude.
I've been watching the Twitch chat whenever I watch this stream and I've seen nothing but love on there for the guy. His laugh prevents cancer.
@wariomona: Good to hear.

Yeah, even the cesspool flooding Twitch chat could recognize how awesome Ryan was. Many rallied to vote for Bendr instead, nearly beating RyanD today, but everyone still sent love when it won. The crowd and runners at AGDQ clapped for him, as well. I could imagine hearing Ryan shouting, "FUCK YEAH!" when they announced that he won.
It was such a tense outcome. With a hour left, Bendr was up by over a $1000 and it was looking grim for RyanD, but duders donated over $3860 in the last hour to make the final total of $9000 in his name.
I couldn't give much, but everyone gave what they could. So thankful to everyone who donated.

And 2poch won for the name of the time machine!
Ryan's crazy naming conventions live on!
:D
In total this marathon, Ryan-related donating appears to have raised over $23,000 toward preventing cancer.
(Edit: People also donated $1000 to get the name of Crono to be "Brono". While not successful thanks to the huge Yetee shirt company's donation to make it "Yetee", it still means another $1000 for charity in honor of Ryan.)
@sgtsphynx: Watching him fire tackle mini-Lavos right in his smug face a few minutes ago was great.
Wish I'd put my money towards RyamD and not Brono, but whatever. Money for a great cause, and the duders came through.
