I am a huge music fan. I try to listen to as much, and as varied, music as I can. When I buy music I'll usually listen to samples of each song before I buy it hoping to get an idea of what to expect from the album. But there are some bands whose albums I'll buy without sampling any of the songs. These are the bands that I know will consistently deliver music that I know I'll enjoy. Are there any bands out there whose albums you'll buy without ever listening to any of the songs on the album? Who are they?
Here are my bands;

Bands Whose Albums You Will Buy Without Listening To First
Generally if I like a band enough to buy their album I trust them enough to have done it right. I don't often sample before buying albums from bands I love. I guess the exception would be if they release a track before the album.
Usually bands that I don't really know I listen to online or from a friend's collection before taking the plunge myself.
@RollingZeppelin
I'll need to check Helios out. The last Appleseed Cast, Sagarmatha, sounds a bit like Explosions in the Sky at spurts as well.
@Gnorbooth
I forgot about Minus the Bear. I was going to add Oceansize until I went to their site and saw the bad news. That really sucks. I thought they were doing some of the coolest stuff with music I'd heard in a while.
" Transatlantic, Theocracy, Pyramaze, InnerWish, Rob Rock, Impellitteri and Dragonland. I love me some prog rock and power metal. "Some slick choices in there brother. Transatlantic is incredible, Pyramaze is BA to the max, and I want new Dragonland to come out NAO!
Also anybody who likes Porcupine Tree, is an awesome human being.

They were doing amazing things for music, just too bad not many people had heard of them.
Yes, all the PT love in this thread makes me happy.
@JasonR86: The Appleseed Cast shall be my next musical listening endeavour, for now, my bed is calling me.
night all
All my favorite acts have disappointed me with one of their albums. The Beatles put out Beatles For Sale, Pink Floyd put out The Final Cut, Kanye West put out 808's and Heartbreaks, etc.
Only "good" bands (as opposed to great ones) are consistently good from album to album, as they don't try as many new things (and so they rarely go wrong.) As such, I'll probably pick up any Weezer, Cee-Lo Green, Lady GaGa, Katy Perry, The Strokes, or Foo Fighters albums that come out.

Some may find this as a strange thing to say given his very limited vocal range, but there is something so mellow, so smooth about the tone of his voice, it just kills me."And absolutely anything by Kevin Moore: Chroma Key, OSI, any and all solo work "You sir, get my vote. Kevin Moore is awesome. Everything he has done, including the work he did with Fates Warning, is always pure class. Chroma Key WINS so hard. "
" Radiohead and the National can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned. "Tell that to The National's first album.
Radiohead's new record was nothing special in my own opinion...
" @Gnorbooth said:You are spot on man. His range is non-existent, but the man knows when and where to put his vocals to great effect. So good and always consistent." @McGhee_the_Insomniac said:Wow didn't expect to find anyone that knew Kevin Moore. Throughout my entire life, let's see... ZZ Top (man, that's been a while), Jack Johnson, Tom Petty (again, been a while - damn, I'm old), Black Keys, Dropkick Murphys, and Flogging Molly. Bands that I will when they either release an album or I can afford it - Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The xx, and Takka Takka.
I also have a strange fondness for certain score composers, especially Bear McCreary, John Williams, and various others, and will often buy scores without hearing them first, but only if I really have enjoyed the composer's prior works. Otherwise I've at least gotta hear a sample or three.
None, I've never had a band that I like so much that I'd buy anything they made, except for Spice Girls which I was a huge fan off in my tweens.
I don't generally buy a lot of music. Last album I bought was the Mass Effect soundtrack. Mostly I listen to music I bought years ago. I'm rubbish at finding new music since I don't watch MTV or listen to radio or anything like that.
@dagas
It is tough to find new music. But, threads like this allow us to hear about new, good bands that may, or may not, be mentioned on MTV or the radio. The majority of the bands I've seen on here wouldn't get air-play and wouldn't be mentioned on MTV. But, because of threads like this, they can get exposure to a wider audience.
The Main Drag, Junip, She Wants Revenge, Destroyer, Mike Patton, Arcade Fire, The Flaming Lips, Sigur Ros, and Devotchka.
EDIT: can't forget Sufjan Stevens or the Decemberists.
OK Go, Foo Fighters, Barenaked Ladies, Steven Page, Cake, The Decemberists, Lady Gaga, Modest Mouse, Electric Six, and anything by Trent Reznor or Jack White.
Anything Jack White puts out, he has an ability to create music that directly appeals to me. No matter what it is. The Kills also but that may be a result of their recent return. (The Kills have an album out in april holy fuck thats awesome!)
Josh Homme is almost in that category but he's a little less reguarly awesome.
Radiohead. It's been the case with their last two albums. And with King of Limbs I bought the big newspaper edition.
" @Ahmad_Metallica I've wanted to try and listen to Opeth but I keep forgetting about them. What's a good album to start off with? "I started with Still Life, and never looked back. Granted, between Still Life, Blackwater Park, Ghost Reveries, and Watershed, you have some awesome possible starting choices. Blackwater Park can always be considered the safest starting point, since that record is just about perfect. Check em' out!
Now I have a huge urge to crank some Opeth. Thanks duders!
