Yay Obama won!
Barack Obama has become the 44th President of the United States.
Props on America for voting for the right candidate.
Although, I don't think America is the most powerful nation in the history of the world. Surely Rome had America beat. Hell, even Britain had a larger empire at one point...
I wrote this in a forum post last night.
I voted for Obama and I feel proud of our united states. I'm one of the coveted independent votes and I chose.
I'm old enough to remember watching, with my family, the Roots saga, I was 12. I was born on the same day as Martin Luther King Jr. and knew the understanding of that when I watched the mini-series. In the words of Yoda, "Angry I was.", my mom sent me out of the room many times because of my outrage toward the treatment of other human beings.
My neighbors were treated differently because of their color, I saw them as neighbors and friends. I was ignorant, I was white and I lived in the south, I would never know how it felt. I feel proud of my country for it truly is, a country of opportunity.
We are all human beings living on a gift that we call earth. Let's treat it that way.
"Barack Obama has become the first Muslim president of the United States. You say that like its a bad thing, do you expect him to suddenly drop all pretense of security and make new laws saying beardies get in for free lol he may be muslim but Im not going to hold that against him. Im going to wait and see if he does a good job and not prejudge him for any reason :)O_________O"
"Barack Obama has become the first Muslim president of the United States.Except he's not Muslim.O_________O"
"His family has admitted to him being muslim many times. Same with a lot of his friends from the Muslim school he grew up going to.
"
"Dude. It's true. O_o"So apparently we're supposed to trust some obscure website no one's ever heard of over every major news source in the country? Seriously, the election is over, and it has been proven time and time again that Obama is not a Muslim. It's time to shut the fuck up.
"And if he were Muslim, why would that matter? "Because in this day and age of fear mongering and mass paranoia, being Muslim means you're a terrorist and want to end the entire world.
"Barack Obama has become the first Muslim president of the United States.he is christian but has a muslim name, if ur gonna attack someone get ur fact straight so u dont like like a totally idiotO_________O"
My names Greg does that mean im a pope or an actor, nope, im an Agnostic sob, its nothing but a name

"Tarsier said:Don't generalize, there were plenty of non-republicans that made the same accusations."His family has admitted to him being muslim many times. Same with a lot of his friends from the Muslim school he grew up going to.So the republicans say he went to a "preacher of hate" revren wright (whos is a christian) then they turn around and contradict themselves saying hes a muslim. MAKE UP YOUR MIND if you are going to make a lie dont contradict yourself.

The interesting thing is that about 43% of the registered voters of the nation didn't bother to vote. It makes you wonder how important the election really was since so many people didn't care to put their two bits in. In my city, the number of registered voters that didn't vote was even higher than the national number.
