Our Decade? 90's? 2000's? Either way there is no "our" because not everyone was born in the 90's or god forbid the 2000's.

Mars Volta
Radiohead

maybe Animal Collective?

that Ys album kicks ass

I dunno 2000s at all, mostly listen to older stuff

and btw, I would consider anyone who has released an album/ep in the 2000s as a band of this decade. Lets not split hairs. Radiohead has released arguably their best work in the 2000s.

A lot of old bands like U2 and The Who have released albums in this decade, but I would not call them bands of our decade. Best bands of our decade are supposed to be bands that show what makes our decade a great one for music, not what old bands still release albums. I actually thought The Bends, and Ok Computer were better albums than most of the Radiohead albums this decade except for Kid A.

Perhaps, but U2 and the Who haven't released anything particularly innovative or interesting this decade either, so I don't think that's a good comparison. You might not like Radiohead, but they do make interesting music that is not like most of whats out there. Kid A, Amnesiac, In Rainbows...great 2000s albums imo.

I'll second those that have name-dropped:

Animal Collective
A Place to Bury Strangers
Battles
Sunn 0)))
TV on the Radio

And raise you:
The Knife
Bat For Lashes
Liars
The Very Best  (their name declares awesomeness, would they lie to you?)

and last but not least, The Horrors!

When did metal die? There are still lots of good metal bands, you just have to find them.

Muse. Either that or the pillows of Larcenciel or something. I can go into Japan music if you really want me to.  Hydes pretty good.
