So, my blog is actually on IGN. It's pretty good (when it's updated) and allows me to advertise for my site (killscreen.ca).

Blogging is a way of advertising the self - indirectly through links to another site, or directly through a replicated or original blog post. 
 
I kindly disagree that linking to my blog -once- is spam. I graciously accept your thanks for my exercising of restraint in refusing to link to a site as an alternative to reproducing the entire work in question. I also recognize the unfriendliness of the unspecified "we."

Next time, I would post some of the content from your blog and then link the original source at the bottom that way it doesn't appear as spam.

If the purpose of your blog is simply to redirect people into your own blog site, then I believe this act is prohibited here.  Regardless of how you may interpret your actions, this will be decided by the moderators.  We had a few cases of self-advertising in this site already, and almost all of them have had a negative reaction by the community I believe, if not all of them.
