Anyone else watch it? Just ended about 10 minutes ago. I thought it was great. Lots of quality casting and they did a superb job of capturing the atmosphere of the prohibition era. And of course Steve Buscemi was good.
HBO is showing an encore presentation of it right now in case anyone missed.
Boardwalk Empire premiere on HBO
I don't get HBO.
It was really good. I'm glad that major plot driving forces are already in play. I was worried there would be too much exposition.
i agree the atmosphere ans music were great. the characters were enjoyable as well i am going to tune in next week
seems like its going to be a good series
"damn you americans and your HBO, im going to have to either wait for it to come out here on one of our channels (as far as i know, thats not happening) or download it which is not only illegal but also blows my download limit to shit. grrrAnyone else watch it? " the show was great. i hope they somehow extend it into a full series instead of a 13 part miniseries. I LOVE STEVE BUSCEMI "Agreed. I thought they did great. I also liked that they put in a few comedic moments with Buscemi. Like the part where his girlfriend locked him out of the bathroom.
I had no idea this was coming down the pike, and then saw a torrent for something called "Boardwalk Empire" on EZTV. Out of curiosity, I checked out some more on it and as soon as I saw Buscemi, Scorsese, and the Soprano's head writer were involved, I got all up on it. I really enjoyed the first ep more than most show premieres. Looks like Scorsese only handled this first episode hands on but has input on the other director's work for future eps.
@tunaburn: According to Wikipedia (which is ALWAYS accurate ;-| ) this could actually be extended to multiple seasons if it does well.
I have the chance to watch it just because Fios is giving HBO free right now till tomorrow, but don't think I'll watch it just because if I did really enjoy it it would really suck not being able to see the rest of the seasons. Very strange it seems less people have HBO now a days, it seemed like HBO was the gateway movie channel back in the 90's and before. Times have changed.
