Poll Burrito Fillings: Veggies (43 votes)

Yes, I can get down with some leafy greans 47%
No, the meat and bean balance must not be disturbed 33%
I don't care what's in it as long as it's tasty 21%

I'm from a hispanic family and my immediate area has nothing but hispanic food restaurants, so I tend to eat a lot of burritos, tacos, gorditas, tortas, ect. I'd only ever had veggies on top or to the side of my burrito, never inside, until a couple months ago and I'm eating one again right now and I'm not sure what to think about it. The tomato adds a nice, refreshing moment to what can be an overwhelming experience of salt, grease, and fat, but I'm still not comfortable with the thought of crunchy things in my burrito; it just feels wrong.

What do you guys think?

Cilantro and onions are the only veggies welcome in my burritos.

I'm down for anything. Because, when it's a burrito, you never really know exactly what it is you're eating because it's all happening all at once. You just gotta let the burrito happen man.

I dont like onions (yes i know im weird). but a burrito is not a burrito unless theres some peppers in there.

Leafy greens? thats just weird. I mean i'd try it, but i've never really heard of that before.

That's fine just as long as refried beans are taken out of the equation. It all turns into a slimey mess otherwise.

This. And yes, tomatoes work really well in a burrito.

No leafy greens, but onions, peppers, quac etc are approprate.

Actually, I don't like burritos. I'm more into fajitas.

Grilled onions, peppers, guac, etc. are all acceptable, as is a bit of lettuce and tomato.

I love veggies because they lend some texture and crispness to a dish. I tend to love burritos, fajitas, pizza, soup, sandwiches, etc. because they're all of the 'put whatever you want on/in it' variety of food.

Oh hell yeah, I'd toss is some grilled vegetables in there. My only issue would be if they were to crunchy to be in sync with the rest of the burrito, but if it's the same level of softness, then yeah, toss em' in.

I guess you could put vegetables in if you like ruining burritos. I'm weird though, I only get meat and cheese on my burgers.
