I got bonsai seeds. Before I planted them I went to a thrift shop and saw this ceramic container. I got it for a dollar and planning to use it as a pot for my bonsai. I am just curious if it says anything. I am guessing that it was an art project and some kid just wrote random kanji or made kanji-looking characters. (Also, hope this question is not going against any forum rules.) If anyone is curious I am going to try to grow a Blue Wisteria.

I can make out a few of them but the way they are written makes it hard...

Also that could totally be Chinese because I can't make out any individual vocabulary and kanji is just the Japanese way of saying Chinese characters.

You can download a translator app on your phone if possible. I once asked on here what this poster/sroll of mine said, thinking it was Japanese, then about a year ago I checked with the phone app, and it turns out it was Chinese :P. Hey, I can try with my phone.

Edit - Have no clue. I can't tell if it's Japanese or Chinese. In Chinese, it came up with words like 'war' 'loyalty' and 'to arm'. In Japanese, all I really got was 'red' and 'gray'. Sorry, no clue.

Those are kanji, but it's most likely Chinese due to the lack of any kana. I see the kanji for what looks like "big" and "day" next to each other (大日). That probably doesn't mean anything on its own, though; I don't believe that the kanji mean much outside of the context of the sentence in Chinese languages, but I don't know for sure since I don't study it. Can't make any of the others out due to the weird writing style.

I sorta think the second from the right on the bottom is the one for "red?" 赤。Also like @vasta_narada said I'm pretty sure in the middle of the top row there is "big" and "day."

Chinese is more likely but could totally be a buncha jukugo words

First four on the top to me looks like 天貫(maybe?)大日 but I can't read the last two at all. Also this probably isn't Japanese?

I asked my friend who speaks Chinese and he wrote it out for me - 精忠照赤日,大我贯青天

He said it's quite difficult to translate because it's a metaphor. The first part is a metaphor about the sun and the second is about the sky. His best attempt was that it basically means something along the lines of "I will endure suffering to bring honour to my country". He said the person who wrote is trying to show their humbleness.

As someone who may or may not be an expert in kanji, and all things persona, i think it loosely translates into something revolving around "truth" "Brother" "fondness"

My rough guess would be "I like big butts, and i cannot lie. You other brothers can deny"
