As much as I hate on some Americans, in general I love them all haha.

It's hard not to paint everyone with the same brush when I say this, but dear God if only they could remove most of the southern states. Most of those people are insane.

Then again a lot of people say the same about those in Quebec :P

We have the longest demilitarized border in the entire world.  I'd say that counts for a lot.  *group hug.

But seriously, I obviously have some bad things to say about some Americans, but really, who doesn't for any country. I love America, you guys make pretty much 90% of the entertainment I consume and much more.

*Posting this from Midland,Texas* Google it :D  All I can say from experience traveling all over Texas is that there are ignorant people (Although not nearly as much as it's made out to be) but I'll be damned if they aren't the nicest ignorant people around.  Although the stereotype that 85% of people down south love football and beer more than anything in the world (aside from Jesus) is pretty fucking accurate. Naa, Australia and New Zealand have a similiar relationship (we give New Zealand crap because they're pretty retarded, but we love em anyway), but we're way closer, since it's pretty much us two and then the whole of Asia. And nobody in Asia likes us.

You should of gone with shoes, I'd rather be shoes than those things. Example: "I like the United States. It keeps Canada's feet dry and helps us kick ass."
See? That is so much better.

Yep, this.  Maybe by a few people, but most Southerners down here are good, humble people.  There are ignorant hicks that still post "THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN" on their cars and act like total dicks to anyone that's not a straight white person.

I have met many nice americans but I really really really hate it when we're said to be America's "little" brother. If americans left out pejorative words when speaking about Canada then I'd be fine with them. They'd just be a little weird with their overt patriotism and the such. I mean, Obama seems to be getting things done. I could like america but as OP mentioned Ann Coulter. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Sorry it wasn't a personal attack. The "little/younger brother" just has a very belittling connotation for me. And people often use it meaning to belittle. Saying america is the older brother and Canada can't do anything on its own. Or that we're completely helpless and comparing us to a red headed step child with alergies that would die if 'all mighty' america wasn't around.

Again, this is not a personal attack on you. I'm just referring to a lot of smack talk I've heard from americans.

Ann Coulter doesn't represent America buddy. What if I took some crazy ass Canadian and used that as my reason why I don't like Canada as a whole. That would be pretty silly of me. And sorry man but nobody gets "put down" more than America does.

For the record, I think Canada is alright.

And one more thing. We need more people like the OP of this thread in the world. People need to come together more often and stop being so fucking hostile to each other based on ignorant assumptions.

I'll admit. I'm a bit oversensitive on this issue. I hated the episode of "How I met your mother" where Robin wants to become an american citizen and they bash Canada a lot. I posted on tv.com about that episode and every Canadian that came by thought I was making too big of a deal about it.

And yes, Ann Coulter would be an extreme case but I just don't like it that whenever Canada is brought up in discussion on American tv then they automatically diss it. I have never come across that from anyone visiting here from America though. And any American I meet online might diss Canada but they'll joke about it more believably or just funnier. So, it's not all americans, it's just the vast majority of exposure to americans I get, they will spout general condescension of Canada.

Finally, yes America gets a lot more flack than Canada. But America has been doing better lately with Obama IMO, so hopefully that'll calm down. Signing nuclear disarmament papers is a big thumbs up in my book.

@99X: Celine Dion is not exactly universally praised over here either.
@Godlyawesomeguy: You should drop by, Niagara Falls on our side offers a much better view of the horseshoe falls. Quebec City or Montreal is really a unique North American city, great food too. And if you win any money in the casinos, there are no tax attached to the winnings.

Or Canada can stay up there and get the free military support from America, considering Canda is perfect with their "fancy" health care.  I love America, tyvm.  I like how we both ignore Mexico as one of us.

I'm glad I got to see this. I really enjoyed watching that video. It nice to know that really deep down all you Yanks love us Canucks and we love you....but totally not in that way. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
