Robin is a cool character, I think that is very selfish on Bale's part I think he wants the whole movie to be about himself, well newsflash Bale, you're not batman in real life. I think everyone here agrees that Joker is 5x cooler than Batman, and to see a character as cool as the Robin was in the Batman cartoon, I think that would be very neat! Discuss.
Oh and for those who don't know what I am talking about Bale said that he won't take part in a Batman movie that has a Robin in it >:(!

.... I fully support his selfishness on the matter.

If he was ever in another, it should be based on a Death In The Family. So the Joker could murder him, and we'd get to see it on screen.

Or maybe it is because Robin sucks... which he does. A cool character? He's the most pathetic excuse for a sidekick I have ever seen.

Yeah I don't think it's just him that doesn't want a Robin.. I think the majority of fans of Nolan's Batman don't want a Robin.

Wow that is selfish.  I do not think Robin fits in with the tone of the movie though.

Yeah but without robin Batman has to be winning all of his fights, example, *********DARKKNIGHT SPOILER************ When gordon saved batman from joker at the end, thats the one and only time Batman needed help.

Robin......I think not. Batman doesn't need a sidekick anyway. Do we really need a superhero being tied down by baby sitting? lol

I think DITF is based on the Robin that took Grayson's place when he became Nightwing. But, they could do that, yet it'd be a waste of film. :P

I don't think Robin would quite fit in with the current mood of the story I could see maybe Nighthawk working but still iffy.

I think it would be too early to introduce Robin since Batman is still pretty new to fighting crime in the new films

Unless Christopher Nolan can fit Robin into the universe in a cool way, I agree with the selfishness of Christian Bale.

Selfish? Yeah, maybe. If the Nolan's keep surrounding him with other characters acted by professionals made of pure awesome as the franchise moves forward, i can totally see why that might bother him.

With all the characters that have been created in this latest Batman universe, can you honestly see any way to work Robin into the story?  With the direction that Bale's Batman has taken, there is no chance they could realistically bring in Robin in a convincing way, it just wouldn't work with the current Batman.  Add to that that a large portion of Batman fans have a distinct distaste for Robin anyway and you have your answer.

Doesn't Robin later become Nightwing? If he does then they should add him. Nightwing is awesome.

If Robin was in The Dark Knight I would have found it really hard to take that movie as seriously as I did.

what's that got to do with selfishness? He didn't say that because he would have to share his part. He said it because a Batman movie with Robin in it would be camp. It just wouldn't work with a) the Batman he plays b) Nolan's Batman movie style. All he meant was: "If Nolan won't be on board for the next movie and if the next director goes back to campy Robin, count me out as well."

I think I would neglect seeing the next film if there was a Robin in it.  Robin is is the Raiden of Metal Gear.  And I don't mean Cyborg Ninja Raiden.  I mean, I'm a sissy and  afraid of my girlfriend Raiden.  And that's not good.

Holy Belt Blunder Batman, I would ruin your kick ass movies.

This version of Batman is far to good to involve such a horrible character. It  Robin worked in the crappy versions of Batman, but not the good one.

Personally, I think Robin could be good... but only if they put a lot of care into creating the role for this new version. Like no colorful outfit. ;)

Dude who cares Bale is god, Dark Knight was amazing because of him and Heath. He's an amazing actor, let him do what he wants as long as it doesn't bring down the movie. The new Terminator series he's starring in looks to be good as well, its like he's going around to old movie franchises and revitalizing.
