breakups just suck especially when you love the girl.  time is usually the best medicine as i have learned today.  i hate the saying "there are more fish in the sea" because it doesnt really help me when im feeling down about not being with a certain girl.  at that point im just thinking that there isnt any girl like her and that makes me feel like shit.  however the statement makes sense to me whenever i get over a girl.  time is the best medicine

She just sounds like a person with a goal and people without them usually can't deal or understand people who who have them. Grow up.

@tunaburn: I've had that happen to me. It happens and yes it sucks. People change and move on. Your MMA will help in some ways but I urge you to find a new thing to do beyond stuff you already do. Her leaving will leave a gap in your life and that gap can't just be filled with stuff you already do or have because you'll get bored of that other stuff (by doing too much of it - the balances between things done changes) and possibly even frustrated with it. Fobwashed is right, find something new to do as well as what you already do.

At least you came to the correct conclusion before she left instead of dragging it on for a long time. You'll probably save yourself a lot of hurt by doing it this way.

Hey, at least it wasn't a terrible break up with a big fight and both of you acting like fucking morons. I do however envy the fact that you can see years into the future and know for a fact that you could never ever end up back with her again. That was always my favorite superpower if I had to pick one. Being able to see into the future seems so cool :P

That's a huge bummer, dude. I hate to see people careers get in the way of important things like love and being happy. But that's just my view on careers.

he's moved on, when they're both on equal footing. The biggest mistake I see people make is keeping in touch with their ex, it never moves on. She's moving away for good, leaving him without the person he loves. She can forage ahead just fine.

And Tuna, if she calls and needs your help man, remember this: She's big-girl enough to leave you for her ideals, that means she's big-girl enough to deal with her own shit.Do not white knight for someone who leaves you high and dry.

Quoted for FUCKING TRUTH. Get back in touch with yourself, pour yourself into something productive and that you love, and you'll find someone that's attracted to that and move on just fine.

@tunaburn: If her dream of getting into the CIA doesn't work out, will she move back? Sorry to hear about that though, you'll get through it!

Like I said in the other thread, it's time to be selfish. Surround yourself with good friends and game it up.

You even have your own MMA studio and a house? You're pretty well set I would imagine, so just focus on you for now. Learn something new. Something you would never think of trying. I don't know, go skydiving or something crazy like that. Just prove to yourself that you can in fact still have fun with your life, even though half of it will be gone soon. You'll build it back up, become a new man, and before you know it, you'll find another special lady.

Join drum corps. That's what I did, and I had a fantastic summer meeting new people and even met the girl of my dreams. She's the one that got Karen to call Dave an asswipe on the big red phone last night. I'm so proud of her!

He needs to join an opposing military, wait for war to be declared and then duel with her. The winner keeps their heart.

Get off of Giant Bomb and go out with your friends and have fun. If you sit and sulk on the issue, it's only going to get worse before it gets better.

Best of luck to you.

Yeah. I know what you're goig through. I just recently broke up with my girlfriend 2 weeks ago because of distance. But don't worry. Just move on. That's what I'm doing.

Duder, you're 25. It ain't the end of the world.. I know it sucks balls right now, but you'll meet other women and hopefully find one that wants to spend the rest of her life with you. Let your (I'm assuming) ex go, don't hold her back if this is what she wants (but if it isn't, just wait 4-6 months for her to come crawling back).

So, grab a girl (or a guy), enjoy yourself*, and just soldier on.

*New Vegas reference. Gomorrah!
