Do kids still have trapper keepers?

I'm curious if kids still use the ultimate in school accessories: trapper keepers/

I have no idea what that means, nor why this thread appears twice on the front page's list of recent threads.

i hope so. i kind of hope they still do.  i use to use one back in the day.

I didn't use a Trapper Keeper (Nor did anyone I knew) . . . I graduated High School in 2002.

God everyone, I mean EVERYONE had one when I was a kid.  Then like in  6th or 7th grade they were suddenly uncool.  I don't know why, they're the shit. 

I only know what a trapper keeper is because of that South Park episode when Cartman's Dawson Creek trapper keeper takes over the world.

God no, it's 2011, most kids don't even need to use paper anymore.

Oh yeah, and Lisa Frank folders. Those kitties with angel wings were adorable.

I got a new one in a different crazy color/design every year 'til I was a junior.

...I also used those folders with fairies and the like on them.

Trapper keepers were awesome. I used to fill mine with those folders that had cartoonish, yet still kind of realistic looking guys doing "extreme" stuff. Like going over a huge waterfall in a kayak or roller blading away from a cheetah. Shit like that. I miss the 90's.

What is a trapper keeper? I looked at some pictures and I still don't know what it is. :/
