I don't really judge people by avatars, unless its an xbox avatar, in which case I do. Whenever I play 1vs100, i constantly judge people =P Its fun.

If people do judge on the basis of avatars then it would be a bummer for me then, I guess I never see an avatar I like so I painted..... this. 

I don't judge them by their avatars, but it's how I picture them.

Nope not really. Half of the avatars, i haven't a clue who they are so i can't really judge.

It really depends. I don't think judge is the right word here, but I think an avatar is a small piece of one's personality. It can be anyway. I built my own avatar around games and franchises I enjoy, there it is representative of me. Maybe avatars mean different things to everyone therefore it could be confusing. But sometimes I think it says something about a person.

only if it is something like a cookie or something then i will think that, that person likes cookies. only time i do it. judging people by their avatar is just like judging another race. like saying all blacks are drug dealers that are poor and dont' have jobs.

Yes, and usually it's probably more good judgments than bad.  The ones that are predominantly remembered tend to be bad.

I do to a certain degree. If I see a male avatar, my brain subconsciously goes "Oh, that's a dude." Same with a female avatar, "Oh, that's a chick."
 
Though if it's an inanimate object, it sticks out a little more. "Oh, that poster's a ship. Wait, what?" :P

I'm pretty surprised at the number of people that equate female avatars (especially those of models/celebrities/fictional characters) with female people. 
 
Maybe that's just me spending too much time on the internet, though.
