Do you follow back?
I tend to always follow back. For me it is kind of a sign of respect that they first showed to you so now I am showing it back to them.
I don't know when people follow me since I turned all notifications off except for when I get a PM from a user directly and not just a "This person followed you!" thing.
So I guess that's a no.
If they put effort into their blog/the site in general, yes. If I see "posting this for the quest" and pretty much nothing else, then no.
Sometimes. It depends on whether I feel its appropriate. Many times, it is, but then, sometimes I'm uncertain. I'd rather have my follow mean something than just give it whenever someone clicks to follow me. It's not a slight against the person following. I simply follow when I choose to follow, and I imagine many others are like that, as well.

I follow back, it's the least I can do.
Wouldn't the least thing to do be to just ignore it?
Don't be technical!
I usually follow back on here. On twitter though, I don't. Not unless I know them or they really make an impression.

Wouldn't it depend on intent?
I only follow people who seem interesting to me. Because that's the point of the feed in your profile right, to see what people that interest you are up to?

I'm assuming you mean GB but i have no idea why anyone would want to follow me, and i don't tend to follow anyone on any space in the internet it just aint my thing i guess, so no.
Well if you're asking why someone would follow you I guess that means I should follow you..makes sense right?
I do follow back here on GB, sometimes on Twitter too.
I will be honest though, I don't really watch my feed...
on giantbomb I did, on comicvine I don't. But it was really a change of mind into indifference. I have no reason to follow. At first I did simply because there's no reason not to (the updates are very non-invasive compared to other sites), but some users just spam-follow everyone they see. If I go to a follower's page and their feed shows they followed 20 people in the past minute... why follow back, it's just encouraging people to do that.
But again I'm really just indifferent.
I almost always follow people back here on Giant Bomb. Twitter is a different story because the only kind of people that follow me are spam bots. But if it is someone I know I follow back.
IF someone were to follow me for some reason, then of course. This means we probably have like interests or opinions or share an outlook, so why wouldnt you want to hear more of what you like? Though, considering I've been here since early 2009 and I only have 250 or so posts.... why would anyone follow me?
I can't remember the last time I followed someone. This site does such a bad job of surfacing when they update and I don't actively seek out such updates so I might as well not follow anyone.

I mean to, but I forget to a lot of the time.
Yeah. That's what happens for me as well.
But if I could follow one set of people for live chats and another set for the actual site that would be pretty cool. That way I could find the blogs and stuff from users I want without it being buried, but also actually get something out of the live chat. There are too many people in most live chats, it makes it hard for a real conversation to take place.

I don't even know what following does. Do people get a message every time I post something?
Yeah, I never followed people because I had no idea what it was for. I think someone explained that it just meant their blogs n shit show up in that 'followed' section on the right side of your profile page, not sure if you get notifications or anything. Now I just don't bother because that's not exactly something I'm interested in.
Although there was this one time I accidentally clicked the follow button on somebody, and then had to unfollow, which made me feel like a complete dick....
Depends on their blog. I usually check out the profile of anyone who follows me but sometimes I forget.
http://www.giantbomb.com/profile/Spoonman671/following-blogs/I follow no one.
Here on GB, sure, most of the time I'll follow back. But on Twitter? Fuck no. I don't get the people who have 20,000 followers and follow 21,000 people. Their timelines must be a fucking mess.
Nope. I don't post anything that would make anyone want to follow me so I just assume everyone that does it is just going down the list of top posters and following for that. There's no dam reason 210 people would follow me other then for the quest. I really wish there was a way for people to say why they are following you that comes with the notification.
