Unless I only want 1 or 2 songs on the album, I will go out and buy the physical CD...I have like 300-400 in my collection right now.

I don't buy a physical CD but i do buy CD's off Itunes. I recently bought Reign In Blood by Slayer, Seasons In The Abyss by Slayer, 9.0: Live by Slipknot, and Vol. 3: The Subliminal Verses by Slipknot.

I also have All Hope Is Gone by Slipknot preordered!

I still buy CDs when I think there's one good enough to be worth my money.
I'm slowly building up my Iron Maiden collection.

I do this, unless the cd is 11 songs or less. That is highway robbery. I don't mind paying 99 cents a song if I'm splitting up a cd, because thats to my convenience, but I am not paying 10 bucks for a 10 song cd. Heresy I say!

If I had the money, I would. Unfortunately, I don't. I'd love In Rainbows on CD, though. The real CD, too.

I haven't bought any kind of music in about a year. If I ever want to hear a song I'll just hit up YouTube.

I usually buy CDs but I end up just ripping them into itunes and losing them anyway. I should just buy them directly on itunes but I still like having something tangible for my money.

The whole album is pretty much stuck in my head. Their youtube page is updated with new music videos, live versions of their new songs, and among other things.

Radiohead - House of Cards Music Video (simply awesome)
Radiohead - Scotch Mist (all of In Rainbows live, I think)

I've just discovered iTunes. A little late, I know, but lately I've been getting my music that way. I'll only buy a CD if I want a physical copy of the music.

All the time. I'd love to buy digital copies and save myself a couple of bucks (not to mention gas money), but the sound quality of downloads hovers somewhere slightly below shitty.

Nope. Everything is digital now so I just get mp3's. Never Itunes though because the quality is awful and your paying 1 dollar for a 92 or 98 bitrate mp3.
Still not as bad as Microsofts DRM... I download like 3 songs and couldnt open them. It was my xbox live points too!

Yes, like most of hte time actually since I usually buy music in CD form anyways.  Really the only music that I actually whatever you want to call it, are like those one hit singles like "I kissed a girl from my friend".  I don't like any other songs by her, so I don't want to buy her cd, and I really don't want DRM so I just get it from a friend usually, but even these only total to around like 10 songs a year at max.

Yep. I love buying CD's and records. Nothing better than going in a record store and walking out with a bunch of 99 cent vinyl. Hidden gems if you look good enough.

I still buy CD's because of I still love the idea of having a physical copy, as opposed to buying it off Itunes where you just get a bunch of 128kps m4p files (Where you can't even play on anything else other ITunes, errgghh...). Usually in January or Feburary during the holidays I'll buy CD's of my favourite albums of the last year or  old "Classic" albums, except for "In Rainbows" which I was happy to pay a $1 and take the files.

I only buy CDs now if they are cheaper than on iTunes or if I want some bonus stuff with the CD. That is why I bought a physical copy of The Dethalbum.

If iTunes had more of the music I like, I'd maybe consider it. Most of my records are by d.i.y/fairly unknown artists.

Actually scratch that. I'd still probably want the wax.

Yea of course. Cd's and Vinyl . Still cant beat the feeling of tearing open a cd and checking out the booklet, the cd, the art. Its like opening a Christmas gift. I use lime wire when I just need a song or two.

Hmm, the last one I bought was the Eminem Show, back in the day. Now I just use bittorrent. I'm actually surprised so many people still buy a physical copy.

I prefer to order CD's from websites. I ussualy find terrific bargains (Korn's greatest hits album for 66p anyone?). Sometimes, new CD's are more expensive than buying them digitally, but more often than not, there are some great bargains for older CD's (Even with P&P). Plus, something like iTunes has an authorization limit. Now that's just annoying. Also, I can't share their music. If I want a friend to borrow and rip a CD, I can lend it him. This is when he wants to see what an album is like from an artist, when he has very limited money. Finally, CD's often come with some superb booklets. I'm a sucker for great artwork.

I can see why people will prefer digital downloads over going out and buying them, because at shops they are bloody expensive. (£10 for the Weezer Red Album, with no bonus tracks from £8 Itunes anyone?). But, buying them from websites (I ussualy stick with Amazon) is a really good alternative. This also allows you to sort the audio files however you want (I'm not a fan of the way iTunes does it), use them for whatever purpose (So long as it's not being used commercialy or distrubuting it across networks of course) and if you get rid of them on your computer, just rip them from the CD again. No need to wait for downloads. Besides, you'd feel a bit empty if you went to see your favourite band with none of their CD's at a meet and greet.
