Don't watch if you get motion sick.

This is probably THE single cleverest use of one of those little sport camera rigs I have ever seen. Some dudes at I guess a sword competion ducttaped a camera to the end of a longsword, and the results are awesome, if a bit nauseating. Something about the perspective... my stomach does not like.

I am usually a stickler to the 'no u-tube spam' clause, but I was just tickled with this and wanted to share.

Lets make it topical.... Um, would this camera angle work in a game, as a cinematic, of you watching the sword slice through dudes and beasties, with blood and gore spraying everywhere? I think so. And then I would vomit.

Man, that's messed up! It would look awesome in a game, but how would that game control? Would you be in that camera view constantly or would everything stop when you stab a fool. That would slow the pacing of a game way down. Maybe if it were only for boss fights or something, the final blow then that could be alright.

I don't think it would work for a video game, no.
I normally do get motion sick from different kinds of stuff but this somehow did nothing for me. Not even fullscreened on the TV and I even tried it just to test it out.

@weegieanawrench: I think just as a part of a normal cinematic, but for say, cutting off the head of a dragon.

Man what's with all this motion sickness stuff? I've never in my entire life met anyone that has complained of motion sickness (thought I guess sea-sickness is the same sort of idea), and yet on these forums it seems every second person gets motion sickness. Madness.

On topic: I love the way it seems like the person is flipping out all over the place.

@Mrnitropb: Then yes, that would be a great way to end a really tough boss fight.

It's cool...seems as if the wielder is moving rather than the sword

A nice video. I think in a video game it could be a cool addition to the odd cinematic.

Pretty cool, but one just has to look at the hilt of the sword to not feel anything regarding motion sickness.
