Do you guys think the cop crossed the line? Was it necessary??
Or did the "dude" get what he deserved????
Also, PLEAS photoshop and/or caption this photo. its hilarious.
" Youtube spam. Also, while the kid was being a fucking idiot, I don't understand the use of a taser. What? You're too fucking slow and fat to catch the kid? Plus, I highly doubt a 17 year old dumbass is any threat to anyone. /rant "Gotta agree. Isnt the taser only supposed to be used if someone is in danger?
i just think the fact that its happening in front a live audience (40,000+ they sell out every single game) makes it a bad idea." @Ace829 said:

Fact of the matter is, they need some way to discourage behavior like this or every other idiot is going to be running on the field and games will take seven hours to complete. If this guy runs on the field and all that happens is he gets walked off the field, no harm done, stupid frat-boys will do it. If they see him get tased, that's a whole different ball game (pun intended).
I heard about this and it's fucking ridiculous. How is this controversy? You run on the field and what do you expect to happen? I would personally prefer if the cops just beat the shit out of the kid instead. The kid is fine. It's not like a taser is going to injure you. But it will tell you not to be dumbass and run on a baseball field. Also, the father is a fucking buffoon. "WELL, IT WASN'T GOOD IDEA BUT HE WAS HAVING FUN!" What a joke of a parent.
" @ProlificShadow: Except that there is a way to discourage this kind of behavior, it's called the legal system. Tasers are just overkill. Give cops an inch and they'll take a mile. "Tell that to this guy. The cops have no idea what a fan is capable of. You run on the field, you're endangering everyone on it. The fact that this kid thought it would just be "fun" to run on the field is a joke. I have absolutely no problem with this asshole getting tased.
Dumbass got what was coming to him. If you let people run onto the field with little penalty then it is only a matter of time before some crazed fan brings a knife with them.

Of course I don't know what you're thinking so it could be anything. Anyway, I think tackling him would have been the best way to go. I agree that the kid is a dumbass, but excessive violence over a petty thing like this can put fear into people's minds about authority. Last time I checked, this country isn't too fond of authority.
" @Milkman said:Well, what about this scenario? What if he had run up and stabbed Phillies outfielder Shane Victornio or their second baseman Chase Utley? Then would you be saying that tasing is out of the question? The arguement would be "why didn't they tase this kid?" Like I said before, running on a baseball field isn't all that "petty". Look at the article, I posted of that Royal first base coach. If nobody intervened, he would probably be dead. That father and son had full intent to hurt that guy bad for whatever reason. " @Ace829 said:Exactly, no one knows what the kid is intending. What if he's a suicide bomber? Obviously that's an extremely unlikely situation, but there's always a possibility. He could have been hurt worse if he was tackled, to be honest. He could have left with a broken arm or something if he was tackled. If you run on a field (I'm pretty sure it's illegal) then be prepared to face the consequences. I''m completely against excessive force from police officers, it really pisses me off, but I don't think this is a case of that." @Milkman said:Well, what about this scenario? " @Ace829 said:If you see the video. All he was doing was running around the field for attention. By the time the security got to him it was obvious that he wasn't a threat to anyone and just wanted to make a scene. If he got tackled then i wouldn't care much. Cops are starting to rely on tasers to much, it's no surprise more and more people are dying because of them. Taser should be one of the last measures used imo.
Haha. He's an idiot. He got what he deserved. Why waste time chasing him? Even if he was fit and athletic(cause we know NONE of the baseball players are)I still wouldn't put the effort in catching him. Get close. Tase his ass. Problem solved. The security doesn't know what this idiots intentions were so they have to take all of it serious to protect the players since they are worth millions of dollars.
" Cops are starting to rely on tasers to much, it's no surprise more and more people are dying because of them. Taser should be one of the last measures used imo. "DanVenture's continuum of force.
The kid is old enough to know that running on the field is a dumb idea. And you're right, the taser could have killed him, but you can kill someone if you hit him/her hard enough. The security guard probably didn't want to chase the bastard like a mother chasing a 3 year old at Wal Mart.

Can a TASER® device kill somebody?
Not really. Like previously mentioned, TASER® devices are not lethal weapons. Despite the high voltage electrical discharge TASER® devices provide, they don't have enough amperage to kill someone in normal situations.
However, while some studies have shown that pacemakers are not affected by TASER® devices, other inconclusive data suggests that in some rare occasions, attackers with some heart’s conditions (or other medical problems) might die when the shock is applied. But these are rare instances, and nobody has been able to prove in a conclusive manner that TASER® devices were to blame. For instance, in many cases it hasn’t been clear if excessive police force, combined with a TASER® device, has been the responsible factor. Plus, take into account that just frightening someone with a heart condition might be enough to kill him/her in some cases."

" The taser gun was designed to be used against violent people, not disruptive teeners who aren't hurting anyone. Lethal force was completely unnecessary. The usual option of chasing and tackling him would've sufficed. That is part of the sports stadium experience. "I agree. Why would they taser a kid in front of a stadium? Fans want to cheer/boo the part where the security tackles him.
No, he deserved to be stabbed. But, then again, who doesn't?
In all serious, the kid got what was coming to him. People in this world are crazy, you never know what somebody is going to do. The moment you think the person is harmless and you let your guard down is the moment that something bad will happen.
