What is your favorite movie soundtrack? For me its a close tie between Pearl Harbor and Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl.
Favorite Movie Soundtrack?
It isn't my favourite, but the Reqiem for a Dream soundtrack deserves a mention, if only because it's used in about 400 different adverts.
Brokeback Mountain
2001: A Space Odtssey
LotR: Fellowship of the Ring
Babel
Any Bond movie except the ones scored by David Arnold
The Wild Bunch
" I second Star Trek in terms of a standout soundtrack this year.
As for my favorite of all time...I'm going to have to think really hard. Most of the music on my Ipod is movie soundtracks."
I'd probably go with the soundtrack for the first Crow movie with some Helmet, Rollins, just great stuff. The mashup soundtracks for Spawn and Judgment Day are also great (although the Blade soundtrack less so...), but if you want something off the radar, try the Empire Records soundtrack.
In a weird way I really liked the music to Juno but not so much the film the music was the main highlight for me.
I've got a few favorite movie scores, but my top three would be Red Planet, Lord of the Rings (don't make me pick just one!), and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.
Pixar's Up Soundtrack
Lost Soundtrack
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Soundtrack
Atonement
Most anything John Williams has worked on
Ratatouille (Giacchino should have won the oscar!!!!)
Star Trek's is great
Pan's Labyrinth
Spirited Away
Lord of the Rings
There's a ton of great things by Michael Giacchino.
A few other faves, for the many moods of buzz_clik...
Blade Runner
Fight Club
Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels
Interview with the Vampire
The Man Who Wasn't There
Akira
Tetsuo: The Iron Man
I gotta go with You Got Served.
Something else that's just popped up on Shuffle to remind me how good it is: Solaris.
I've never seen the film (I'm talking about the Clooney version here), but one night I went to bed and left my housemate Adam to watch it. Later, at about 3am, I was half-dozing but hearing this lovely music drifting softly through the house. Eventually I became fully awake and realised that Adam had fallen asleep and the menu music had been looping for hours.
Observe and Report. O&R has plenty of excellent 70's and 80's Rock (including Queen, Patto, and.... The Little River Band). Also, every piece of music really fits and plays with the scene it's featured in; they're kinda like set pieces and they just.... connect.
"Gonna say eitherThe TerminatororBeverly Hills Cop. "
Ahh yeah those rock :D
Anyway, mine would probably be Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, Monty Pythons The Life of Brian and this...
